I've been looking at buying some leather trousers recently, but the only pair I could get to fit (and they fitted perfectly) were a pair of Frank Thomas Strike 2 leather jeans in a size 34. Unfortunately they were in green, and I wasn't too keen on the colour scheme.

Now today I've found a website which are selling the Frank Thomas Shock Jean in the same size, and I just wondered if anyone knows if it would be the same fit, just with a slightly different look?

I'm just not too keen on the whole power ranger look, and would like something a bit less flashy and the Shock Jeans seem to fit the bill (no offence to anyone who wears race-leathers, it's just not quite my style). Although I do like the idea of knee-sliders Very Happy

Opinions?

Also, if it were to rain when wearing a pair of leather trousers with a fabric groin area, am I going to get wet undies, or do the droplets drip over the top of your leg and not down below? I've never really noticed, with only ever owning textiles. What do you guys do when you get caught out wearing your leathers?

Thumbs Up

About the rain, your leathers will stay waterproof for a while, totaly okay for my short commute.

With regards to leather sizes, I actualy ordered jeans on line using my normal jean sizes, worse that can happen is that you have to eat salad for a couple of weeks. (I'm serious on this, I had to loose a bit).

It's not the waist size that's the problem with me, it's the fit around the knees, and whether I can bend my legs or not.

I take it the fabric groin area doesn't get touched by water then?

That's a good question, I notice they're all doing that as the latest trend.
Can't see it lasting really as the water does tend to funnel in that direction, I'd expect you would get damp quicker anyway.

Frank thomas are built piss poorly mate, I wouldnt waste your money on them.

I was looking at getting the frank thomas strike titanium but for little extra I got hand made in england scott stuff which is far better made and is better rated by the mags etc.

Dont waste your money on frank thomas.

Hein gericke are good too, and very reasonably priced.

Barney on what grounds do you disagree?

Or are you just annoyed that you have bought some and dont like someone else being what you may consider a snob about the gear you own as you think its the bee's knee's?

Work this out.

£350 buys you frank thomas strike titanium 2 or 1 peice leathers which are built cheaply and have been known in tests to fall to bits. But I will admit they look pretty cool.

£350 buys you hein gericke leathers that come RiDE reccomended and are of much higher build quality.

Its just a shame people still buy frank thomas as they wont increse their quality as they basically rely on mugs who dont look at the quality and just at the price.

Spada for instance are cheap and allways come out well in tests.

Just because the gear is cheap doesnt mean it has to be tacky.

Unlike frank thomas.
