Basically ive just sold my zxr400.
The original plan was to get a 600 sports now for around £1800-£2000 then sell it next spring and upgrade to a litre machine.
However, ive been looking around ebay / biketrader / local bike shops and as its summer the prices are higher so i will get less bike for me cash. Also that nothing takes me fancy at the mo.

The other small problem is that in september onwards ill be heading back to uni to start to get meself organised for the 2nd year so the bike wont be used, itll just be sat in the garage untill spring, so bascially if i buy now, itll only be used for the next 2 months ish.

Im tempted to buy a better car now (i can take me car to uni) and buy a slightly better bike in spring, as i will have saved a bit more cash to add to it.

The recent hot weather makes me want a bike again, but is it worth it for 2 months use??

What would you do? I just cant make me mind up Confused

Or wait untill autumn, the prices tumble as the fair weather bikers either put their bikes up for the winter or sell them. Bargains galore! Thumbs Up

buy a rat which'll fall apart in 3-4 months which you can strip for parts and get a few quid less than you bought it for,

and ride it like a hero , I ride a NTV650 fer christ sake and can keep up with 636 Ninjas (with average riders) and SV650s (with fairly good riders) ,

note depending on who you ride with such riders may be:

#1 incredibly respectful of your ability/madness in being able to husle an old rat bike as fast as their new sports bikes.

#2 be incredibly resentful that you can hustle an old rat bike as fast as their new bikes

I've met both types in the same group , those who were resentful never liked me ,

Thats pretty much what i did, i had a crash on my old bike, (still waiting for insurance since nov -05) and brought my old GS for £250 in november, yeah its a POS, and i have spent another 400-500 on it, but its lasted so far (touch wood) and is still plugging away, meanwhile by october/november i will be 21 (unrestricted officially... pfft) and have 2 years NCB (hopefully)....

And it is fun overtaking power rangers and FWB on their bigger machines on such a POS...
