I think the Mito i had would see a Bandit off the lights, but wouldnt be any better mid range to top speed.

Not sure how much difference the restrictors make.

Mine was the EVO with 7 gears, it came straight from Italy and had some after market exhaust. Was dangerously quick.

I'm not sure a Mito could beat a Bandit off the lights. A Mito could beat a sh*t rider on a Bandit off the lights though Idea

It'd be pretty close.

Who cares, though.

On anything over 100m the Bandit would wipe the floor.

A mito makes 28bhp max at the back wheel (if anyone pipes up to tell me their special with this pipe or that cocking filter etc i'll shout you down like the fool you are Wink ) and struggles to make that.

The restricted bandit would barely be breaking a sweat to push out the 33bhp, and would have so much more torque too.

Well, this is true, if you fitted a powerband and racing spark plugs it'd be making about 45bhp.

The mito, powerbands can only legally be fitted to engines under 350cc, and most dealers will only put them on two-strokes too.

I've got a dodgy mate who'll fit powerbands to anything, i shouldn't really tell you, but he fitted one to my 600 the other day and now it's teh bollox!! He said he could fit 2 powerbands to my 1.7 Ford Puma no problem - i'm just worried its humble Fiesta underpinnings wouldn't be able to handle that sort of raw power.
He says if i don't like 'em he can just take 'em off again, but i'm not sure, will it affect my regular service schedule?

its not just power that affects acceleration, its weight

looking at power to weight ratios rather than max power, wd give you a better idea

the mito is a lot lighter

Doesn't matter, the Bandit would look LOTS better and sound better than a Mito. Thumbs Up

My Mito had no baffles and was blowing slightly, it sounded like a WW2 Spitfire doing a vertical nose dive with NOS.

Eh? Since when does a budget shoe-horned streetbike look better than a 916 wannabe?

Since people thought the Ducati sounded better than it's 125cc predecssor Razz.

Since people had different tastes.

Being comfortable with what it is is always cooler than being a wannabe.

lol, I know, that illusion is somewhat distorted when a Mito starts up. But looks wise, it's pretty close.

He did originally say a restrricted blandit, in which case the mito would probably beat if off the lights due to the lower inertia and higher power/weight ratio, but the bandit would have more top end, and it'd be more comfortable. My cagiva doesn't feel nice at 95, but i bet the bandit would be nice and composed.

The restricted Bandit's acceleration in the first few gears isn't too far off the derestricted version's. Obviously it adds up to a few seconds off of the 0-60 time, putting it somewhere level with the mito at a guess. You can still shift on one in the low gears, it just seriously starts to run out of puff from about 80.

And as usual, it all depends who's on it, i thrashed a fat man on an R1 on my Bandit (unrestricted) once cause he couldn't stop it wheelying, so power isnt everything!

And yeah, the Bandit cruises at 90-115 really easily, very stable. Though you'll struggle to get the restricted version above 90 without some serious geographical help, or at least i did with my 6'4 wind catcher frame.
