An embarrassed bike safe instructor....

This is what happens when you put a bike safe instructor on a two week old blade

Iroinically he was riding with a bunch of mates of mine to a local bike meeting place to try and encourage people to attend a bike safe course when he binned it!

Hes perfectly fine, hes just damaged a police bike and his pride. He underestimated the power of the brakes whilst leant over which sent him wide which made him panic again which sent him wider onto some gravel and lowsided into a ditch

What you can see is a plastic cover that fits over the tank itself. The tank has been flattened onto the engine

Sep - It's not the tank, it's a plastic cover over the airbox, the tank is "mass centralized" lower down in the frame.

I think it's all down to conditioning, you get used to what you ride. Hoping on the Blade from something like a Pan/BMW would be, err, interesting. I've found that the front pushes wider on the brakes on this model too, nothing major and you can bully it or ride around it, but it can catch you out on occasion.

I've been thinking about attending a bikesafe course for a while, but a) i can ride fast already b) what they teach is mostly common sense c) i have learned to combine them both and d) i am able to adapt to different bikes without falling off them

Police bike riders have put themselves on a pedestal and expect to be thought of as the best riders on the roads, what a load of sh*te! anyone and i mean ANYONE who puts the effort in can ride equally well if not better, all the information needed is out there it just needs digesting and putting into practise

First thing i do in a straight line is try to get the feel of the brakes, because mine are very shite in comparrison to modern machinery...
