OOPS

was out on a ride last night and threw it down the road Sad Slightly annoyed!

Was coming off a roundabout and realised i wasnt going to make the turn. Grabbed the brakes only to straighten up and slam into the kerb throwing me along the central reservation and the bike down the road. Schoolboy error.

Mainly scratches with the fairings in one piece thanks to the now bent R&G. Should be repairable.

Parts damaged / wanted:

R/H footpeg
tinted db screen
R/H R&G
standard exhaust
R/H fairing
Front mudguard.
Front R/H fork R&G.

Info needed:

Where can i get silver suzuki paint in a spray can?
Where can i get the vinyl graphics?
How do i straighten a crash bung to get the fairing off?

Pics attached. Evil or Very Mad

Doesn't look so bad - bit of T-cut and some metal polish and it'll be right as rain.

Seriously, R&G will sell you a single bung. They may even send you one for free if you send them a copy of your pictures to add to their collection on their website. I'll guess they may be able to give you some help on removing the damaged one too.

oh yeah im alright cheers. Thought id broken my finger but its just badly swollen. nothing else. My Spidi leathers took the main beating for me and being thrown off probably kept me out of harms way in this instance.

Still, thanks to all the people that stopped to check i was ok ... all none of you. Just steer round me while im trying to get the bike upright why dont you.

Sorry to hear mate, damage doesnt look terminal though Thumbs Up Wow, other road users really couldnt give a fuck about us these days it seems Shocked when I had a spate of crashes a couple years ago, everyone stopped, only time I was left was when I came off my mx bike and split my knee, and a cyclist who saw it happen as he approached just rode right past me kneeling trying to get the bike up as couldnt stand Neutral

Busted mate, definitley my favourite GSXRs the K1-K3.

The fairing and decals i can't really help with, but for the R+G try twatting it straight with a hammer?

As for the exhaust, you've got a good excuse to get an aftermarket one now, so do so!

Glad to hear you're alright mate, good luck getting it sorted

Sucks mate but as long as you're ok that's the main thing! Thumbs Up

Has that bung bent the frame mounting, it looks like it in the pic?

That's what I thought, but it might just be where the bung itself starts after the thin part of it.

R&G won't want that one on their site, I reckon if it hadn't bent the scratches to the fairings wouldn't have been so bad. What sort of guarantee do R&G offer? I think you should at least get a new bung for free if you ask nicely, and if you explain what happened with it maybe they'll send you a few freebies to keep quiet.

Bad luck though, at least you and the bike are still standing. Smile

A sorry sight Sad

Try your local suzuki dealer for the paint and the decals... I hear the decals aren't cheap though. Last time I was going to get some for the small decal on the seat pod, I was quoted about £30 for one side....

I wouldn't quite resort to that... The bung is on a engine mounting point..and wouldn't want to risk twatting it again. I removed my one by grinding away as much of the remaining bung as possible, until I got easy access to the bolt to enable to to remove it. The R&G bungs are available separately Very Happy

Glad to see you're ok, and the damage was minimal.

Surely you could live with cosmetic problems? Wink

Now you see what people talk about with the bending crash bungs damaging the frame, 'tisnt just people being crazy!

Good luck sourcing the parts, everyone should have a less than perfect bike, because then you'll get the satisfaction of putting it right and admiring your handywork Thumbs Up

without the crash bungs there would have been a damn sight more damage to the bike. Yeah they may bend but they still stick out further from the bike than anything else and take the brunt of the damage. Im keeping 'em.
