Nah not really. The problem is that the english don't really fathom that all the media attention they have gets broadcast over the entire UK and that outside their border people get sick hearing about it.

Having lived in england for 8 years I have made some great friends down here and I see no wrong in them getting excited and bigging up their team, its a healthy, natural and competative thing to do.

I do object though to being up in the North East of Scotland and still being bombarded by the same media because ultimately its Englands football endeavours mean fuck all to me...I'm not english.

Maybe this perspective would be better understood if the BBC became more EU and the english had to watch the germans or french all the time.

I think finally England have a winning attitude and expect success. The team(football) is full of top quality proven players at a high level and with a bit of luck and a positive attitude can win the world cup.

It's better than the old attitude of give it a go and 'hopefully do quite well' without daring to mention the word 'win'.

Anyway now I'm off to the pub for the game....COME ON ENGLAND!!

English people are a bit cocky, there is always the hope we can win. As for the england team, they dont have enough confidance they can win, hence why we dont do well when it really counts.

There is alot of psycology of sport, if you read Clive woodwards autobiography (coach of the world cup winning england rugby team) he goes on alot about belive you can win, not going "yeah we can win" but genually knowing, but without being cocky, england teams probably belive that they wont win the world cup, beacuse they never do no matter how hard we try.

I thought they would beat Trinidad & Tobago with ease. Not that i know anything about football but i got the impression that T&T were one of the crappest teams yet England are struggling a bit against them.

You have to wonder what chance they would stand against one of the good teams.

After watching quite alot of that game i thought they did crap.

They gave so many goals away and around 73mins i said "England really are shit"

England are a average team, who can only attack down the sides, we have hardly any skill & quite franky, boring to watch. Brazil on the other hand will attack down the center with skill. We saw in the last world cup when we played Brazil how there too strong & too quick.

I like watching African teams like Nigeria, we'd probably struggle against them.
