.....and I suppose I'd better admit how crap I am......... Embarassed

Since I've had it, my bike has always been a bit what I would call "vibey". You can feel the vibrating through the pegs and bars, and more than about 50 miles and you would get the tingly fingers thing when you stopped.

Well a few months ago the vibes got worse and the bike was really noisy so I got the other half to have a look and I'd snapped the exhaust clean off at the collector box. Embarassed He welded that up for me, and it went back to "normal". The last month or so it's been getting noisier and vibier (is that a proper word lol) again so I asked him to have another look. He's not had time cos of working on the 400, til last week when he took it for its MOT and the tester mentioned that the exhaust was chuffing a bit on the left hand side.

So, last night he tips it up to have a look, and there's a big hole right on the edge of one of the jubilee clips, further up and round from where he fixed it last time and not immediately obvious. He filled it up with exhaust putty and put some new jubilees on, with instructions for me to go out for a bit tonight when I got in from work - we're rallying this weekend so he needed to know it was OK.

Well, I took it out tonight and it's like a different bike! It's quieter, smoother and I seem to have gained a load of power too! Shocked

I can't believe that it looks like I've been riding a bike with a knackered exhaust for the last 2 years and not even realised...... Embarassed

Hehe. If fixing it makes such a difference, I wonder what cans are actually available for small cruisers? Twisted Evil Very Happy
