 |
|
This Sunday I have to spend father’s day collecting a 24-hour urine sample.
Starting at about 9AM in order that I can drop the gallons of piss at the local hospital the following day.
The reason is so that the function of my kidneys can be analysed.
So apart from the obvious embarrassment of this exercise I will have to carry bottles of warm sloshing urine in a backpack on the bike. Can’t wait!
What is the strangest cargo you’ve had to carry on the bike?
I’ll let you know how much piss I had to take:up: |

A large pack of bacon that was too big for under the pillion and I didn't have a backpack so I had it in a carrier bag around my writs. It was one of them 3kg pack from faucetts butchers.

I used to work for a courier company in Birmingham called "Moves". They had a contract with the QE hospital to collect urine and faeces samples from a number of GP surgeries and deliver them to the path lab around the back of the QE, near Harborne. When doing this, not only did we have Bio-hazard tape that had to be across the topbox sealing it between pickups, there were also some fairly official looking forms. The other aspect to this job, despite the fact that some of the surgeries would keep you waiting for a while as they got samples bagged up and sealed with paperwork, you had to be at each surgery at an appointed time.
Coming back from Hollywood into Birmingham on the A435 one afternoon rather rapidly as the last surgery had kept me waiting (no way I wanted to spend my lunchbreak guarding a topbox full of someone elses shit while the path lab reception were on a break) and a police bike pulls me at the Maypole roundabout.
Police biker:"What do you think you're doing sir, do you know how fast you were going?"
Me:"Of course I do, see the hazard tape? I've got some critical samples for the QE pathology department, can I get moving please?" (showing the forms and hoping I can blag it)
Police biker:"In that case, follow close behind and lets go"
It's the first time I've ever moved up Kings Heath high street at more than 30mph, police biker was obviously bored. Got a police escort with lights and occasional siren all the way from the Maypole to Harborne.
Possibly not the strangest thing I've ever carried, but it was certainly a hell of alot of fun that day ____________________ I'm immortal. Well, so far. |

I think the strangest thing, which really isn’t that strange, would be a Chinese hanging from round my wrist in a carrier bag (Chinese food that is, not a very small Chinese person) ____________________ Rieju MRX 50 Castrol Edition |

I once saw a guy in Seoul carrying his pet monkey, it was perched on his head and kept jumping onto the pillion seat and then back onto his head. ____________________ Space Monkey #7

I work at an auction and buy a load of crap so i've carried loads of stuff on mine. Strangest are probably the following:
1) A 17" TFT Monitor (£20!!!)
2) A Surf Board - strapped to my back on its side.......nearly took off! Also hit a few cars on the way home as i forgot i had it on
3) Chinese takeaway on the handlebars (not from the auction.........)
Thats the lot i think! ____________________ 2005 Gilera Stalker 50DT ---> 2003 NSR125R ---> **1999 Honda Hornet 600** |
