After sometime has passed and my friends from school who went to Uni have come out, the mix of results have confused me. There seems to be a lot of focus on doing the work and getting all the answers and papers in but the knowledge of the jobs on the other side of the fence is lacking.
Being in the working world since I left school I have learnt about the many ways of obtaining a job through agencies, getting qualifications and so forth, I see Uni very confusing for young people.
I also know now what courses would have benefited you and which ones wouldn’t, this also depends on the area you live in.
One guy I know has come out with 22K worth of debt, but his computer course has landed him a brilliant job, 40 miles from his home, he’s not chuffed about it, but he needs to move now.
Another fella has come out with 8.5K and has just applied for a job at Chelsea Building society as his course did fuck all for him.
So many situations, so much to think about…….
I left school and got my qualifications in the work place, learnt very quickly and now earn close to my goal wage, any more is a bonus. If I worked harder I’d be earning a lot more than any graduate. ____________________ Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

Why should university just be about the job you get at the end of it?
I didn't go to university to improve my career prospects. I went to study, to learn and to enjoy my subject.
I had an engineering sponsorship, which I turned down to study the subject I loved. I still think I made the right decision. ____________________ Avast! Pirates ahoy!

If you fail you can always go down to the road to Bolton , which in business studies scores 55.13 compared to 53.50 (MMU). ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. Why university?
COS ITS THE NUTS!
Im not your typical student type, wasnt really interested at school, pretty lazy, did the bare minimum etc.
Did sixth form although most of my friends left and got jobs after gcses. i saw them earning money and having a good time with it.
I didnt fancy uni so I got a training placement with a house builders after 6th form, decent pay and day release. I wanted to work in construction industry so pretty much perfect.
But after about 6 months, i was sick of living at home, sick of the sunday night feeling and missed the company of people my own age.
So chipped of to uni for 4 years!
Nothing else is like it, such a laugh. living with a bunch of people all you own age, all up for it in the middle of a city with no repsonsiblitys.
Did the bare miniumum againg, got a 2.2, 15 grands worth of debt and have ended up with a similar job if i had stuck with mine after 6th form but at a higher level.
I would happliy pay 15 grand to have those 4 years again! |

History is some seriously dull shit. My mate chris who i lived with last year visited a welsh castle a month...
Spent the rest of his time reading textbooks and writing mammoth essays.
Sod that for a laugh in your first year. ____________________ China traffic/travel bike vid - When I make a sweeping statement, please add the word 'statistically' in to the sentence before you bitch...
From September 2014 to January/February 2015 I will not be using any English, nor reading any. As such, I won't be on here. PM at will, but I won't be checking/posting unless in emergencies. Certainly not for the first couple of months. Please berate me savagely if I break that rule... |
