They don't stretch as much as you think they will. I'd rather have slightly baggy stuff and whack a layer under it.

My one is so tight i have to wear a jock strap and nothing else.

The complete opposite of what he said Confused

Give it a few months and it will feel just fine.

Baggy leathers are a serious compromise to your safety and look absolutely rediculous.

They should be like a second skin.

Maybe its what make you get. Was expecting mine to be like walking boots. A bit stiff and tight for a month or so, then super snug. Maybe i've grown as they've stretched.

I've been scowering the shops for a set for myself, and in one of the stores I was obviously quite uncomfortable with how tight the trousers and was informed by the assistant that it's much better for them to be tight, than loose' as if you crash in a loose set the leather can ruck up and catch the skin.

She also told me of an incident where she had to remove someone's skin from a pair of leather trouser's after a crash; which to me, doesn't sound particularly pleasant.

I was cut out of my leathers after a crash, while on the roadside! Cagiva gezzer would be laughed at just a little bit! lol.

Mine are quite tight and seem to make knee down knee stretching a pain in the ass!

Baggy leathers can't be that bad. My textile jacket is huge, very baggy and that didn't ride up my back at all when i crashed. Seems like daft hype to me.

Half the point of leathers (apart from looking cooler than textiles' Ted) is they protect you more in a crash than textiles because of their tight fit and resultant abrasion resistance.

How does a tight fit result in abrasion resistance?

If they're loose they can rub up and down on your skin.

Makes no difference to the abrasion resistance of the leathers though does it?

Think about it, what would something rubbing on your skin rapidly at speed do to it.

i'm a 42" chest. I should therefore wear a euro 52 size jacket.

however..... The one piece leather I tried on was 52, and I needed a 50 for it to be snug.

the two piece 50 I tried on wasnt snug enough - so i bought a 48.

It's a tight fit, especialy with my richochet back protector. but it will stretch over the next few weeks, although not loads, enough to feel just right.

I founf this afternoon, when sitting upright, the jacket was a little tight under the left arm pit, all i did was relax my elbows a little and it loosened up.

Find the optimum riding position and you'll fit your leathers.

Baggy leathers are not good in a off. I dont want flappy folded leather against my skin.

the armour in the 48 sit right on all the proper places and arent sagging past the joints.

see track hero's. they wear tight gear, not flappy baggy ill fitting gear.

When i first got my leathers they were so tight i cracked a rib when i stood up after 2 hours hunched behind my screen Smile (was a previous injury to be fair).

Fit perfectly now aside from a bit of bum saggyness and a bit shortish on the leg but i am a giant Smile but when i first got them it was a struggle getting them on especially when it was warm and used to feel odd when walking around but fine on the bike.

Best advice i was ever given is when you're trying them on in the shop, hunch down with your elbows by your knees as if you were riding and if they feel right and nice and tight without restricting you then they will be fine.

Think about what? Your statement being wrong? Abrasion resistance of the leathers has nothing to do with fit.

Loose leathers may cause other injuries, but this does not change the abrasion resistance of the leathers.

You should think about it, or learn to say what you mean and stop using terms you obviously do not understand.

Perhaps you would like to back up what you are saying with something of substance? I don't mind being corrected when I'm wrong, but it isn't very useful when you just keep repeating "You're wrong and I'm right" with no evidence to the contrary.

For what it's worth, I've seen first hand a rider get a form of gravel rash under leathers when the leathers were loose fitting, as they rubbed on the back.

Kindly STFU, if they are loose the will have folds int he leathers which will prevent the abrasion from being smooth which would result in the leathers becoming abrasive against your skin due.

Whereas if they were like a second skin they would just smoothly run along the floor, not causing too much hassle and the abrasion would be minimal as the leather would have taken the brunt, not your skin where the incorrectly fitting leathers have rubbed.

Maurice is correct. And he has the name of a black Jamaican! Thumbs Up
