?? Most of us travel hundreds of miles to get to a weekend bike meet. It's not as if you need to go there and back in one day is it Rolling Eyes

So far this spring/early summer us North lot have been to Lands End, Wales, Brighton and even the Download Festival...All for weekend or even just overnight trips. In the case of Spacky (NSRSparkie) wales was a 1 day trip there and back Cool. We're already planning a Scotland trip, a second Wales trip and even contemplating going abroad.

Honestly, why are some people so hesitant to go far, it's not as if we are in a huge country is it. Long distance is easy on a bike as you can do an easy average speed of 60mph. Besides our Northern roads really are worth it - I mean hell, I average 300 plus miles a weekend just riding around on them Thumbs Up

Anyway, the event's at my house - pm me or dodsi for directions.

So just to confirm, where is everyone meeting? I'll be coming down from Newcastle, are people gathering at the A1 services or something?

What time?

Sorry if this info is already in the thread!

It took me and jimmy less than 2 hours to cover Here to telford for the wales meet.

150ish miles is not that far, 1 and a half hours of riding at the right time on the motorway, say 3 hours if gentle ride.

I'm a little bit hessitant because I don't know anything about you lot at all, but thats nothing compared to that fact that i'm not that quick in the twisties especially since my last off when I was really pushing it and low sided.

At 33Bhp I don't have the power to catch up in the straight lines either :p

When you say sleeping space do you simply mean physical space as in bring your own sleeping bag? Cos I can't really fit that kind of luggage on my bike Very Happy

If only I saw the thread earlier!

307 miles from my place. Shocked

Got work though. Sad

Im pretty slow, you could keep me company at the back. When we went to bala, nath was on a bros with similar power to you and he was near the front of the pack.

From what I saw, generally people were making progress by maintaing speed on bends, and not really slamming on the power on straights.

a sleeping bag would be fine in a rucksack. if you dont want to strap the rucksack onto your bike, you could wear it

some rough times would be useful

"Rideout in the late morning/early afternoon (sat)"

any idea when you will be setting out ?

"BBQ In the late afternoon/early evening"

any idea when you will be back for this bit ?

If i dont make it in time for the late morning/early afternoon rideout, I should be with you by the BBQ.

There is a chance I may come late on the friday but i will probably come on the saturday.

Right well Once people have signed the attendance list with the date and rough time of arrival We can work out plans for rides etc.

The BBQ I expect to start at 4/5 on the saturday afternoon, Then shortly after we can go out into the town. (bring some clothes suitable for going out in and a iron will be supplied).

Im sure bedding can be supplied but if you want to bring your own sleeping bag it would help, just cargo net it too the back of your bike.

Once I know who is coming and what time ish and which day I will be in a better position to make plans.

Because I work 7-5 and drive an average of 350 miles every day (Courier) so the last thing I want to do at the weekend is travel another 350miles up and down the motorway (and unless i've got 5hours spare that's the only realistic route).

I'm not afraid of distance, will do 250mile rides in wales and did Hastings and back lastyear (500miles) but this one isn't appealing.
