hi again Smile

I finally took the plunge and got a Yamaha R6 2000 model in fantastic condition. (took it on a loan though n got shafted Shocked ) lol

Aparently with insurance i cant apply my 5 years NCB to both machines?? if i go multi bike with my current insurance company (1st Quote) i can't have NCB on the new R6 and my NSR

So, if i was purchase an insurance policy with another company for my R6 will i be able to apply my NCB to that?? 1st Quote was 650 notes for a 2000 R6 (datatool alarm & Datatag) with 5 yrs NCB and a 2001 NSR 0yrs NCB both TPFT

any reccomendations, a friend suggested Caroline Nash as she offers cracking deals on multibike policies.

I would love to get the R6 on another policy because i have been offered a quote of £360 for it if i am able to claim my 5 yrs NCB Smile

cheers Cool Thumbs Up

- update -

it would seem i will lose my next entitled NCB Sad . 1st Quote won't substitute my NSR for the R6 'due to age restrictions' and so i would have to take a new policy out with them loosing my next NCB entitlement in december. if i went multibike with them (cheapest option so far) i would also loose my next entitlement.

however if i wanted to keep my next NCB i would have to get the R6 insured with another company but i don't think i can claim my NCB on it?? insurance companies arent my faveroute thing at the moment Evil or Very Mad

Some companies are doing multi bike policies. Not sure about how this works on the ncb.

www.bennetts.co.uk do this, which help. Best thing is to do some phoning around for the best prices for your two bikes.

You can claim NCB on one bike on one policy. A multi-bike policy may not be available to certain (young or inexperienced) riders.

Even for a 40 year young old git like me, a multi bike policy is an expensive option.

Many insurers have restrictions on what bike a certain age rider, or one with limited experience, can ride.

Next time you'll ask these questions before you buy a second bike. All part of lifes rich tapestry.

thanks for the reply

my current insurer has offered me a fairly decent multibike policy. i havn't come across any restrictions yet given im 21, ridden bikes since i was 16 and got a full licence since I was 17 which is clean so can't complian. I was just looking at how i can 'trim the fat' off some quotes and save a few more pennies.
I wasn't aware of the NCB rules though... another learning curve i guess lol Rolling Eyes will give carol nash a buzz along with bennetts and see how i get on Cool
