Nearly experienced my first ever outburst of road/bike rage this morning. Twisted Evil

Sitting in traffic waiting for lights to change and some rather unpleasant chap* in an Audia A4 tries to switch lanes or at least get his nose in front of the car waiting behind me to the left. On his blind barging way through he's managed to nudge me Shocked on my end can leaving a little silver streak on the carbon (luckily it rubbed off). But that wasn't what did my nut in. As I adjusted to stop overbalancing due to afformentioned "nudge" I put right leg out and brushed his bumper with it.

He must have seen this as retaliation or something, the next thing you know he's beeping his horn giving me the finger and reving his engine, almost in a I'll ram you off your bike manner.

So lights go to amber and I burn off in a foul mood Evil or Very Mad ,.....only to be caught at the next set of lights (London for you). Where old Audiman catches me winds down his window and starts shouting at me. I nearly lose the plot and just restrain myself from booting off his wing mirror.

If it wasn't for the dark visor I flipped down and the extra 5000rpm I squeezed on to drown him out, I dread to think what mad max esq carnage would have errupted down the Old brompton road.

What can we really do in situations like this, its not as though I can just reach into the glove box and get a pen and paper to right down his number. Should I have reacted, he actually made contact with my bike, whats the rule of thumb???

*replace with expletives suitable to your age.....so silly sausage up to "£$"^!£$^)!£@@ !£!£%::ker

Give him a smile and a cheesy wave. No matter how stupid they have been.

That will piss him/her off a lot more than retaliating will and it certainly couldn't be put against you if things did get nasty.

Yep, I totally agree with that advice. My email sign off is 'Forgive your enemies - it messes with their heads!' You won't give them ANYthing definite to get angry with you about and they'll go away and take out their frustrations in some other way...in theory. They may of course just be a mentalist, so in that case, being able to accelerate a lot faster than them is probably a very good thing Wink

Go after him. Kill his kids. Kill his wife. Kill his parents and his parents' friends. Burn down the houses they live in, the stores they work in. Kill the people that owe them money. And like that, you're gone. Underground. Nobody's ever seen you since. You become a myth, a spook story that criminals tell their kids at night. "Rat on your pop and jonboy22 will get you."

I had some chav boy racer do something similar to me before. When he stopped along side me, wound down his window and started hurling abuse at me (showing off to his mates in the car with him) i just punched him square in the face. The carbon knuckle protectors on my gloves must have hurt!

Anyway, that seemed to shut the little f*cker up and he just sat there stunned with blood pouring out of his nose. I lifted my black visor and said very calmly " Now don't do that again and let that be a lesson to you " Razz

Also a very tempting route to go down.

I had this other great idea. My truck (yeah I know but I need four wheels to tow things) comes with a set of emergency flares. Now how much fun would it be to whip one out from under the bubble screen, crack it open and toss it into the back seat, that would teach em pretty sharpish......

or take another vallium.......

If you want to really scare them (if they give you lots of abuse) just put your bike on its stand and pull out a pen take their number plate number down THEN.. just get on your bike and act like nothing happened! lol Cool

If they 'ram' you, The easyest method is just to drop your bike (if its in gear just let out cluch and drop bike to side - make sure you dont drop it on you) and then sue the driver for every scratch you ever got on your bike and also go to your doctor next day and claim you're injured your wrist, maybe use it as an excuse to get off work/school

Sounds like you are experienced in this. So what happens if they aint insured?

I was caught in traffic a few months ago in my town centre, I was just leisurely sensibly filtering through, about 15mph, when i went to go round a RAV4 it suddenly swings out to hit me, I almost fell off into the f'ing oncoming it was so sudden.

Anyway, so I caught it up again, the traffic at standstill. And just sat next to the window, and its now I see it's a fat ugly past its sale by date woman, well I just sat there, with my clear visor, looking in on her.

After a little while she glanced up, and quickly looked away again, I lifted up my visor, and just sat there staring, eventually she made eye contact and then after about a minute (possibly seconds Wink ) rolls down her window, and the moment it was fully down I just went absolutely crazy...

"WHAT THE F*CK DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING YOU SILLY B*TCH?"

She looked pretty shocked at that, but came back with a what do you think your doing going around cars, "Thats what bikes do you idiot".

Then the traffic started moving and she tried to make sure i couldnt get in so she got a alpinestar kick to the front wing before I blasted off.

(Blasted... only a race rep 50 Mr. Green )

I cant stand people like that!

AHhh now see that's the rage that I'm talking about. So difficult not to react and give the cheesy smile routine. Especially if they don't seem to give a monkies about what they've just done.

I like the open the back door trick, I'll use that....

But when tempers flare, oooh soo hard not to drag the titanium slider on my Oxtars down the length of the car as I pull away.....and accidentally smash the shit out of the wing mirror with the ball and chain thats being weilded by my gauntletted arm.

or just take another vallium.....

To be really effective it has to be the rear nearside door as they can't reach that without having to get out of the car. Thumbs Up

I experienced 'Biker Rage' about 30 minutes ago coming off a roundabout in Gloucester. I had filtered to (near enough) the front of the queue and had taken up a position behind a lady in a Peugeout 406 Estate. I looked to the right onto the roundabout to see a space the size of the soddin’ Grand Canyon - well that might be a slight exaggeration but it was more than sufficient to fit her, me and the driver behind who’s car had more Red Crosses on it than a bloody pools coupon onto the roundabout. She stuttered, she revved, she indicated left and travelled about 10 inches (and believe me I know how far 10 inches is Wink ) before coming to a hault to give the old skool Ford Cortina that had just joined the roundabout 70 yards away a wide birth the size of which dwarfed the distance that separated the two waves that were parted when Moses did his stuff.

If I hadn’t just spent a fruitless lunch hour chasing my bloody dog about and trying in vain to teach her the difference between Bakers Complete Puppy Food and Cat Poo I might have been able to let it go but unfortunately I began to steam underneath my Arai.

406 bird finally pulled away when (it was generally accepted by the convoy of 200 vehicles behind her) she had enough room to complete a 3 point turn in a friggin aircraft carrier. I followed behind her barking expletives into my visor and waited for her to take the nearside lane of two so that I could complete an overtake. She proceeded up the middle of the road straddling the white lines of the lanes. By this time I had assumed she was either…

A Driving Miss Daisy.
B Driving a slot car utilising the white lines Scalextric Style.
C A Bastard Lunatic Bird in my Bloody way and Pissing me RIGHT off.

The language emanating from my gob by this time suggested option ‘C’ and I dropped a cog ‘did her’ on the inside and accelerated away – I was doing 70 in a 40 before I realised that Biker Rage had taken a severe hold of me!

To make matters worse when I got back to the Office someone had parked their stupid silver Mercedez Cabriolet in such a manner that I nearly had to syphon my bloody tank to get the bike through!

Although I know who’s car it is I cobbled together an email to ‘ALL STAFF’ which thankfully (now that the Biker Rage has subsided) I didn't send...

Motorbike owners would be grateful if whoever parks at the side of the building leave sufficient space for them to squeeze a peanut sized helmet past - Enabling us to get a bike through the space that you leave would also be a bonus. To assist you in indentifying when bikes are parked at the side of the building here is a brief description...

They're the big, two wheeled things that are similar in colour to the scratches that'll be down the side of your car next time you park like a fockin' twat.

Cheers

Mad
