How do you stop yourself from getting extreme helmet hair? I'm not vain or owt like that but I just find it extremely annoying
I've got bandanas to stop my hair getting in my face, but they just make it even worse when I take my helmet off ____________________ Mutley - 1988 Austin Mini City - Blog

It's not very nice when you have stupidly long hair, and I don't particularly want to cut it ____________________ Mutley - 1988 Austin Mini City - Blog

I believe the hair glove has been recommended on this site before.

I had all my hair cut off
Worked for me
No more tats...no more untidy hair
Result
Well ... the hair it is quite short (shoulder-ish) and cut in a 'messy fashion', so when I lob my lid off the hair is just as messy as it was when I styled it !
As for plaiting your own hair, just scoop it back, and tie it with a band, then look in a mirror, set up a mirror behind you and practice practice !!
Like all things, it just takes time to get the knack of it
You could always tuck your hair down your jacket ?

FWIW these people on eBay do something similar to the hair glove. They'll even customise the size if you need it (as I got one for the missus).

If you can't be bothered to plait, or can't do it (points and laughs at Icey! ), a series of bands all the way down a ponytail works just as well. Pull hair into nape of neck and apply first elastic band. Apply next one a couple of inches down, then another a bit further down etc etc until you get to the end.
Personally I prefer two plaits (one either side) cos my other half says it makes me look cute (yeah right ) and it's easier to plait the sides than at the back where you can't see it!
Tying up the long ends to prevent them getting all knotted up is fairly easy though. The worst bit about helmet hair IMO is the flat fringe thing. If anyone finds an easy cure from that that doesn't invlve a) washing your hair or b) carring some type of poncey spritzing bottle around, please tell! ____________________ Sod falling in love, I wanna fall in chocolate. |

I use a load of hair gel to keep the top bit flat, (I don't have a fringe, so the front is almost as long as the back) most of my hair just hangs out of the back in all weathers, it's very long too |
