Planning on going with some mates, were all impoverished at the moment (two of them buying a house this year for example) so decided we could manage camping for a week or so..

me and 3others are going on our bikes, and i know some places are quite arsey about them?

Does anyone know any good, reasonably priced camping spots in the peak district that wont be twuntish about there being 3/4 bikes?

I've stopped at 2 sites round matlock that were bike friendly. I forget what they were called though. have a look at www.cades.co.uk
They have a park search on there, there's tons of sites round derbyshire.

Try the large one at the base of the Pennine way in Edale. Follow the road right up through the village, then turn left into the entrance just near the pub at the end of the road.

Roger and Penny own it (don't ask me how or why I always seem to be able to remember this, I've only stayed there a couple of times!) and are a right miserable pair. But I don't think they are too fussy, the place is huge so they may just ask you to keep to a particular area away from the family's for example.

Prices are reasonable.

Am I the only one to think this thread title sounds like a low budget porn flick?

I've camped a few times at edale, and you are right about coopers, what a miserable fucking pair they are, although I expect i'd be like that if I lived there.

Ace, that seems good, do the pices go on per tent? or per person?

Also can you park right next to the tent? been camping (at a propper site at least) only once before and you park you car wherever and stick your tent up next to it.. i'd prefer that cause less to lug about then Very Happy and can make use of the battery for lights/airbed pump (yeh i'm a tart)
