pregnant and doing cbt

Hello everyone!!!!

Im four and a half months pregnant and want to do my cbt. Is it a good idea?

Also having a first baby how many of you would find out the sex of the baby?

Myself and stu are having a debate on what to do.

I dont think you should to be honest. I know you wont be doing stupid speeds but the vibrations cant be good...

Also you might fall off or somthing silly ( it can happen ) when doing the 180 turn or somthing.

And the baby might get pissed off and kick you off the bike and steal it ( It can happen )

Get advice from a Doctor, but I think its a safe bet that he will say what I said ( apart from the kicking part, but even doctors make mistakes )

i would wait till after the birth, if ur a bit down n need some time 2 urself.

plus i would wanna know the sex so it gives you more chance to prepare

My mum was riding a bike up until the point she went to hospital where I was born; and look at me now. Erm, yes, maybe not such a good argument .

Good idea? That's down to you. It will certainly involve a risk, but so does crossing the road. You have to decide if it's worth it.

Knowing the sex - definately. Then you can buy the right colour clothes and paint the room properly.

I wouldnt have thought many respectible instructors would take you out anyway. I know i wouldnt.

Find out the sex if you want ot know, so you can plan - or be spontaneous and get a surprise.

My wife stopped getting on the back of my bike as soon as we found out she was pregnant. Its up to you...
Our first baby is due in 6 weeks and we don't know the sex. We decided that we wanted a surprise. Who says the babies room has to be painted pink or blue? Its up to you...

Being female myself i wouldnt even give it a second thought, I wouldnt do it not even if someone promised me R1 if i done it. At the end of the day its your chioce but you would never forgive yourself if something happened to your baby.

babies are protected by a big water sac , and anyway through extensive testing you tend to land on a joint (knee shoulder , elbow head) rather than your belly area.

When my mum was pregnant with 1 of 4 (I'm 4 of 4), she had such a big bump that my dad was perched up on the tank of his little 125. This was back in the day of screw cap petrol tanks so one wrong move and I wouldnt have been here!

Do it, absolutely no doubt. Doing your CBT is pretty safe and physically stress free, can't see it harming the baby really.
It's been suggested that you wait till after the baby's born before you do it, obviously these people don't have children!!! If you wait till after the baby's born it's going to be a long time before you have a full day to yourself to do CBT, possibly years. Get it done whilst you can!
As for finding out the sex, that's a personal decision I suppose, personally I didn't want to and have never regretted that. Do what you feel is right for you!

I would recomend doing it now cos you wont have time when the baby arrives. Will you have time to ride with a young baby?

Nice that all you fellas want to treat a pregnant lady like she's made of glass, but totally unnecessary.

Unless you have a history of miscarriages and have been ordered pretty much not to move by your Doc, no reason not to do all the things you nmormally would. At 4.5 months the baby is about the size of an apple and, as has been said, surrounded in a very effective bag of fluid that cushions it from practically everything.

Re the sex, up to you. Personally I did cos I'm the sort of person who needs everything prepared in advance so I wanted to decide on names, stuff to buy etc.

Don't do it bikerbabe - I remember doing DAS and the woman I was training with dropped the bike and she ended up pretty much underneath it (She was unhurt I may add!)

Do it now, if at all. From what my sister and two of my friends that have had kids tell me, you simply will not have the time to take a whole day just to yourself and relax to the necessary degree for quite some time once the little one has arrived.

Finding out the sex is not something others should decide for you. It's your kid, and it's your experience: if you start letting other's take control of it now, you'll never hear the end of it .
