independant police complaints commision

has anybody had any dealings with this organisation,
i need to make a complaint regarding the police not attending a grade one 999 call. Are these the right people to speak to regarding this matter, or should i just forget about it.
has anybody been in this situation were you were being assaulted and somebody nearby has phoned the police and they have not attended, or have attended but not in a timely manner. any advice or information would be much appreciated

When I was punched in the face they came out and stayed with us, instead of going to get the offender who was walking up the road away from them.

Also told me and the GF that we might as well stay in and watch DVD's...

I spoke to them and checked thier site and downloaded the form. The gentleman said that not turning up to 999 calls is a bit of a `grey `area as far as they were concerned as they tend to deal with complaints of harrasment or police violence or whatever. As the complaint isnt against an officer i may have trouble.
which stinks because i cant claim for crininal injuries because im a convicted criminal i cant complain about the police lack of response because its not covered in thier charter to the ipcc.
But what i do know is that they have a grading system of sorts for 999 calls grade 1 being get there in 3-5 mins being a full emergency. i have been told by a person who works in the control room that the call was grade one and they shoulkd have been there.
whats the point in calling the police if they wont come im not talking about burglary im talking about violent crime

over here the police would not attend cause they just say its a domestic all the time. thats their excuse.

This has happened so many times maybe there should be sticky on this site for complaints to the police, various police authoritys so on, coz it seems people have had problems in the past.
Can the police be sued for negligence because if they had turned up in the alloted time this wouldnt have happened.
and one nice letter isnt gonna unfracture my cheekbones fix my glasses and enable to sit down without having to hold my balls. Never mind the time wasted for x rays hospital so on so forth.
did someone mention something on this forum once, about a device which emits a noise that stops chavs hanging around parks ? i need one for outside my work

Mine was in Warrington, police were there in about 3/4 minutes but wouldn't leave the scene to go get the offenders who were still walking into the distance.

when i came off my bike last the police came over wheni was on side of the road and asked if i was ok and then left, didnt take details or anything. i could have been drunk or had no insurance and they didnt care.

Why don't you go into the main police station in your area and ask fr the duty Sargeant as you want to make a formal complaint.
If you cant be bothered to leave the house you could ring up the professional standards department and make the complaint to them. Every force has one.

Some things to think of before you ring up.
Who phoned the police and what did they say?
Were the offenders still there and were you being assaulted at the time?
Did the caller leave contact details?

Remember it's not the police's fault you were assaulted and if you want them to do aything about it be nice

i had been told things like that previously, thats why i was asking if anybody had complained, this was the same situation i was working late at my fathers office doing a bit of overtime (call me greedy) and a gang of youths were pelting the place with bricks after shouting at them i chased them off round a corner were there was more of them waiting for me and i got jumped on. Im not a fighter but i think i should stand up for myself.
Ive been round since with a few of my friends and gave the youths a good frightening, not hurt them just scared them a lot coz its not just me who has had problems with these youths but most of the people who live round there. They are all scared to speak out for the fear of getting thier windows broken. most of the people in community are old and a bit intimidated so i think i did the right thing.
if anything happens like this again im not going to bother with the police just sort it out with my friends like i should have done in the first place
