Hi and welcome to the forum! Thumbs Up

'Which is the fastest?' - The question that has kept many a teenager busy, frantically typing on his/her PC...Basically, it's swings and round-a-bouts. I started my biking life on a RS125, and loved every second of it, never thought about getting a Mito. Anyways, it's down to you: have a go on both and find out which one you like the best.

Which is the best bike? As they are both 125 2-strokes, they've probably been abused by their teenage owners so buying one second hand is always a gamble (although I'm not recommending that you buy brand new), just try and take a mate who knows what they're looking at (and to play Devil's advocate). I found out my RS was an insurance write-off when I came to sell but I didn't mind, the bike had given me a year of pain free riding (including a 40 minute commute, twice daily) for 4 months.

I ride an RS125 and I think they are great - I bought my RS brand spanking new last July and touch wood have not had any real problems as yet even though it lives outside and was rode all through winter.

In answer to your question which is faster?? I personally having rode both found them to be reletively similar, the RS has a little more top end than the Mito IMHO but the Mito is faster off the mark. Thats what I found anyway.

Looks wise - Well despite loving my little RS to bits I think the Mito is the best looking 125 around (With the exception of the 06 model RS125) It is very similar to a Ducati and looks a lot bigger than it is.

As for the reliability of them over the long run - I am just thankful I am getting shut of mine over the next few months, only I have been told they are mega expensive when somthing goes on them.

Oh and you can also pop a wheelie on an RS however you cant hold the wheelie but it still feels ace! Twisted Evil

Local? The dots orange, instead of red/yellow! Wink

Personally, I rely on my bike heavaly (I aint light) to do a daily commute of 44 mile. When I was on L's I was interested in the extra speed that a 2T gave, but not the headaches (I had just been promoted, and the phone calls of "Sorry, the piston is stuck _again_" wasn't going to go down well).

But, thats just me. I went for a Suzuki Marauder 125, which, even though some arsehole ensured it was written off, I enjoyed immensely.

But, bear in mind, which ever you choose make sure you get all you can out of it. Ride, ride, ride. If you've got nothing to do, take it for a run up the rabbit run, to Bridgnorth, from Sedgley. Once there, you can stop off at Sainsburys and take a look at my shiny Banditry sitting outside.

Welcome to the forums, out of interest, d4rlo, where abouts are you? (Not specifics like a minutes walk away from the Britannia chippy, but general area). Smile

Don't buy a decent 125 bike.

Buy a 2nd hand CG 125 for about £700 ride it for a couple of months and take your test. Then sell it, you will then get your full £700 back and then you can ride a better bike and won't be viewed by everyone as a learner.

Seriously 125s are okay for a month or two to gain experience or maybe a city commute, but I wouldn't want one as a main bike.

I would consider a CG for a winter commute.

Also when you pass your test and you ride a 125 you get weird looks and you get stopped saying "Where are your L plates".
