PostPosted: 20:47 - 06 Jun 2006    Post subject: 1999 T GSXR 600 [FOR SALE] Reply with quote

Up for sale is my 1999 T plate GSXR600 SRAD in the traditional blue/white colours.
I've owned it since August 2002, i bought it from a local lad - one of the things that appealed to me was that he'd had it serviced at the same place i use (Tekmotive). Anyway....here are the details:
Long service history
MOT till 12/7/06 - the bike has never even had a minor on it's MOT since i've owned it, so i'm happy to put it through an MOT if a prospective buyer is willing to pay for it. The bike has only covered 2K miles since it's last MOT.
Tax till 31/7/06
26K miles
Race can (viper) & standard (unscathed) can
K & N filter
New battery (approx 1 month old)
Recent (25110 miles)chain and Renthal sprockets - 1 tooth smaller on front
Braided brake hoses
Single seat cover and pillion seat cover
Standard clear screen and blue screen
Small(ish) plate & standard original number plate
Alphadot marked
Crash bungs
Garaged
Well loved, looked after and maintained
Genuine reason for sale - much as i hate that term it's true! I want to buy a K5 750 and can't afford 2 bikes!
The only real bad points i can think of are - slight scratch to LHS fairing and a small crack on underside of main/headlamp fairing(previous owner, dropped at a petrol station, after that he fitted the crash bungs!) - rear tyre could do with replacing shortly.

Consequently, i'm asking for a realistic £2500 ono - there are private sellers on MCN asking for over 3 grand!!

I welcome any genuine inspection of the bike, unfortunately any test rides would be subject to full asking price in cash and on a 'you bend it you bought it' basis. However i'm more than happy to take a genuine buyer out on the back free of charge. Very Happy

I've attached a few photos, i've got a few more - if you want them pm me.

If you want to come and see the bike, call me on 07814 465 053 - i'm in Hatfield, Herts.
Cheers,

Andy B.

Thumbs Up

what you're asking, pricewise, seems to be what dealers are asking for similar. private sales would normally be cheaper.

Although since you dropped it to £2300, it;'s closer to private seller territory.

for comparison, I bought an S reg Thunderace for £1500 last year, and an R reg Firestorm for £1125 two weeks ago.

it might just be a tad rich still

Parkers value it at £2360, so what hes asking isnt too bad. https://www.parkers.co.uk/pricing/used_bike/valuation.aspx?deriv=4548&plate=60
Maybe should lower it an extra £100

I am actually looking for a srad at the moment and i think the asking price is a probably a bit high.

Theres plenty on autotrader etc for under 2 grand with similar or less milage.

Sounds like a nice bike tho.

I've always found parkers to be very optimistic in pricing.

I never really take the guide book prices seriously.

A bike (like anything) is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

The fact this post has had 200 view and no interest suggests that it is too high.

Doing a quick search on Auto trader for 40 miles around my postcode reveals SRAD 600s going from £1900 to £3500.
The ones going for around 2 grand tend to be older and have higher miles, and don't appear to be in the same condition as mine - though it's hard to tell from the pics.
So, i don't think my bike is overpriced by miles, plus it does say 'ono' on the advert - so i am looking for offers around the £2300 mark - if anyone wants to pay more they are more than welcome to!!
Very Happy

advert suggests it needs an MOT and new tyre. people want a bike they can ride away for that money. if there's no MOT then they've only got your word that it'll pass, and they'll not have to spend a load on it. it's also a relatively high mileage.

I'd offer you 1800 as it is. but i'm not in the market atm.

unless I thought I could punt it on for a profit.
