I have three jobs which I have applied for. 2 of which I have had the interviews for, one of which ( the one I really want ) I haven't heard back from yet. I will be hearing back from the other 2 this week.

Is it OK to accept these jobs ( if it turns out ) and then bum them off if I get the job I really want? I mean, I haven't signed anything at this stage, have I? I have told the other 2 jobs that I can't start for 2 months.

Help please...

Cheers.

Sure, your fine to do that.

I think even if you sign something you can normally get out of it one way or another (Even if it means taking a crap in the MD's desk!)

They cant do jack if you havn't signed yor contract, if you do get the job you want just ring the other up and say " Sorry the job i was waiting for came up and i got it"

No point wasteing both your and there time.

If you offered the other jobs you want to show 'interest' & 'keeness' at that stage - don't mention that you are waiting to hear about your dream job it will just p*ss the other people off. You can verbally accept and delay sending back any paperwork...if things get close with the other two roles and the other company is dragging their feet, you can always ring them and see where you stand.

As a recruitment consultant im obliged to say i hate people like you Razz

But in reality you can accept and sign away any contract you like(perhaps even dilly dally over signing, claiming the contract didnt come in the post etc) without much problem.

Contracts mean nothing unless you have started work and you would only have to give a weeks notice within the first 3 months or so anyway.
I have lots of candidates that say they are waiting for a reply on another job before accepting, and of course we try to talk them out of that as its our commision on the line, but if an employer has chosen you, they will generally hang on a few days before going through the selection process again. The recruiter is just as lazy as you and me remember!

Best thing you can do is phone up your dream job and ask. Shows you are keen and you will also get some feedback - if nothing else a date that you can tell the other employers you will have your decision by.

Just dont take the piss and you will have some leeway.

What is it you have applied for?

Kaben Thumbs Up
