Couple of Q's about riding behaviour in the test.

Just need to clarify these for myself.

1) Is a lifesaver just looking in the mirrors to see behind you or is it where you actually have to turn and look?

2) Does it matter how/when you change down gears? I keep hearing mention of the correct procedure being not to use so much engine breaking and change down the gears just before you stop. The way I ride at the moment, I change down rather more gradually as I look ahead and see where I'll be slowing down.

Lifesaver is when you check your blind spots over your shoulders.

A lifesaver is the final check before you turn at a junction or turn into a junction. You should do a shoulder check before moving your lane position, and then a lifesaver just before you turn and just before you pull away.

They're not going to notice when you change down unless you're being stupid. Just do what feels right. Thumbs Up

A lifesaver is the final check before you change direction. Not just junctions, but everywhere.
