Just got my thundercat, beautiful bike (in my eyes) clean and tidy, chuffed to bits.

Its wierd how when you open those shed doors in the morning and you see it, theres a warm tickly feeling inside you, you dont belive its yours, yet it is, it feels naughty but right, the sence of danger, risk yet its comforting and calm.

riding down the street, the roar of that shiny new art can, the looks, the sound of the thing in the mid range, opening the throttle feels like being shot out of a cannon, as the front end goes light and lifts up and waves in the air a little.
Sitting there for hours cleaning and polishing, staring at it holding a brew for hours on end.

i love that new bike feel, one of the reasons im a biker.

Steve.

I cleaned my Varadero 3 times before I actually rode it Mr. Green .

Strange thing was the second time I could swear it was dirty Shocked

Too many hard drugs obviously.

Or maybe I've been talking to the teapot too long..

Razz

I know exactly what you mean. Thumbs Up

I used to get that warm and fuzzy feeling when I would be peeling back the bike cover to expose the sexy and sweet curves of the ZXR. It seems a little strange, but it even made my heart beat that little bit faster. I was'nt sure whether this was down to excitement or due to the nerves of will it start or not Neutral .

Wheres the pics? You've posted enough threads about it, so come on, show her off Wink

I love that feeling.

I find my self unable to stop riding till im either out of money for petrol or my back hurts so much I cant stand upright Laughing

The best bit is, is when you first sit on your new bike and you seem to forget how every thing works so you just sit there staring at it Laughing

Oh......is that feeling supposed to disappear when the bike's no longer new, apart from the exhaust manufacturer, I still get that after 9 months of ownership Confused

True (not sure about the cleaning bit though), as one of the reasons I sold the RVF was because I felt there was nothing new to it (both riding and working on). Had owned a combined NC30/NC35 for over 4 years though, plus thinking of owning another...

Oooo I have the same bike, same year, same can but in red and black and a few more miles on. Good choice. The can sounds pretty damn nice doesn't it.

That's a nice bike - single seat cowl as well (jealous - want one on my Thunderace Sad ). I've only had the 'ace a couple of weeks and getting itchy about modding it, even when I swore blind all I would do was ride it :S

Been scouring places for a cheap seat cowl in blue (best price £109 so far - no thanks) and waiting for shorter tie rods from Germany.

Washed it a few times as well, then greased the chain and it went all over the place, making a right pigs ear of the side of the bike with white gooey stuff Embarassed

Got a Haynes manual but resisting taking it to bits until the autumn, when I'll give it a right good service and change the pads, sprockets and chain, probably get a new alarm fitted (that doesn't flatten the battery in 3 days like this one) and change all the phillips screws on the fairing for shiny allen key thingies. It's a slippery slope... Confused My wallet is already dreading the fall...

Taking the fairing off the Thunderace is such an unbelievanle arse ache that it'll put you off ever wanting to work on it after you've tried it once. Why they needed to have so many pieces is I dont know. I always seemed to end up with bolts left over aswell. Confused
