Right i have a mini dv cam made by JVC.

It was working fine till the other day when the wife went to digitise our wedding tapes and make a DVD and its just coming up with 'CONDENSATION, OPERATION PAUSED' then 'PLEASE WAIT'

WTF's going on ?

Can anyone help?

I'm no camera techie but my guess is some moisture has formed somewhere within the unit - I think the techie term is "condensation". It'll probably pause the operation and ask you to wait please :p

As said above standard sensor to detect moisture. It's there to stop the tapes being chewed. Usually caused by coming in from the cold outside to a warm room. Need to put somewhere warm and dry to see if it dries out.

However, if it doesn't go away then the sensor itself might be broken.

That happened to mine last year.

I left it in the airing cupboard - no tape in it but with the eject mechanism open - for a couple of weeks and it's been fine ever since.
