K4 GSX-R600,

Bought it about three weeks ago Very Happy and it had about 4400 odd miles on the clock. It's due for its 4000 mile service but the chap who used to own it didn't service it according to the milage but put it in three times in 2 years, so one more service than the book suggests.

Anyway I've booked it in but have put another 1000 miles on the clock since Sad and just the other day commuting in I noticed that the change up from 3rd to 4th was getting a little clunky. And by clunky I mean pull in the clutch try shifting up and no movement at all. I have to let the clutch out, rev like buggery in third and try again with no revs dialled in Confused .

All the other gears are sweet as silk and to be honest the clunky thing doesn't happen all the time, maybe I'm just rubbish at changing from 3rd to 4th??

Any ideas what it might be ??? Question

Is your chain adjusted properly? If not, it could be that, sometimes only affects certain ratios.

Cheers

also try bleeding the clutch if its hydraulic (not sure if it is on the newer baby gixxers) or adjusting the cable if its thatway inclined, if its not fully rleleasing the clutch it can make ita pain to change gears.

Well would have been happy to get my digits dirty and get covered in PJ1 but it was due for a full official Suzuki service anyway.

Plus they have those laser alignment thingermajiggydoodahjobbies which is far more accurate than my own non-expert hammer wielding judgement, so dont think it was too much of a crime to ask them to do it.

but ,um , yah, I got sumbuddy else to doo it fore meee...uh huh Embarassed
