Well, I did my CBT back in April, then went through the rigmarole of sitting the theory, then started learning to ride a 125. So far I've had several lessons and was getting very nervous and a bit despondent last week after a couple of particularly bad lessons and a u-turn tumble, but something happened yesterday, don't quite know what...and I just got it.
Had two lessons - one in the morning, one in the afternoon. Morning one didn't go so well, but I came back in the afternoon (after boiled egg and soldiers!) and did eight almost perfect u-turns in different parts of town and got everything else spot on. My instructor asked if I was actually my sister (I'm an only child, but I do have an evil twin who emerges when alcohol is involved...it wasn't yesterday though!)
At the end of the lesson, he had a chat with one of the other instructors and they put me on a 500 and talked me round the yard for 10mins. I found it much easier...I'd heard that but didn't believe it until I got on one.
Here comes the best bit though. I always do things the wrong way round, so I've already bought an xj600 which has been sitting in my garage for a month or so looking lonely. Last night, my husband took us both to the local industrial estate - lots of safe areas to practice, so all I can say is hmmmmmm, I like speed..and my god, she goes! Feel much happier and more confident on the bigger bikes, so maybe I do have a chance of passing my test next week Smile)) Woo and what's more, Hoo!!!

Hope all goes well for you - I wasn't confident (I never am) on my test, but was much better on my first test (which I failed - foot down on U turn) than my second, which I passed, even though I was far crapper.

Both tests I took a wrong turn, the 2nd made my test last something like 25 mins longer than it needed to be! And in that extra time I nearly screwed up on basic stuff! (Indicators).

Once you're done with the U Turn E Stop bits, remember your basics - mirror signal lifesaver manouvre indicator off mirrors and hopefully you'll be fine Smile

Good luck!!
