I've just got back in from picking up the new GF from a night on the piss. Gave me a good chance to see what she is like when she's been drinking, so I know what I'm in for. Also lets me know if I can take her to a work do or something and have confidence that she wont make a complete git out of herself whilst there.
Oh and I got some brownie points while I was at it
Anyway while driving in I had the usual pang of guilt for not riding the bike in. Obvoulsy it wasn't possilbe but it did raise a question.
Is it leagal to pillion a drunk person??
I'd like to think not. Depending on the pillion to rider weight ratio they could have as much control or more over the bike than you do.
Not to mention the chances of simply falling off.
So can you do it and have you done it?? ____________________ meh |

It would be f*cking idiotic to do it if it was after a heavy night of drinking.
When your wasted the last thing you want to do is hold on to some thing. And if they are at the point where they cant walk in a straight
line, would you want that clinging to you.
Personally it would mess with my concetration having to make sure they have not fallen off the back
Imagine if they puked in the lid and all down you back and crack ____________________ ◙◙► K6 GSXR 600 ◄◙◙◙◙► K5 GSXR 1000 ◄◙◙◙◙► K5 GSXR 600 ◄◙◙◙◙► 96 RF600r ◄◙◙

its less carrying them and having them hold on ,
more strap them on to the bike or hook em on with cargonets/bungees ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will. In the end, your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure it is worth watching. |

Illegal to carry a pissed pillion? Well, that'd be a bit draconian in my book. It's not that hard to keep control no matter what they do. You can always stop - they'd have to be being a bit malicious to sustain any hindrance to the rider (Unless the rider were an inexperienced weakling)..
Sorry, but I quite often drive pissed people home; that legislation would be a right downer! |

As much as I can see where you guys are coming from, (to blow my own erm... trumpet) I'm a fantastic pillion even when completely and utterly bolloxed. I think thats due to it being second nature to me now!
Last weekend I even managed to carry home an Indian takeaway and not spill any whilst I was on the back of one of my mates! ____________________ Funny, I used to hate being spanked as a child!

I personally would not take a pillion who is p****d out of their brain, surely they would be all over the place and end up taking you with them if they fell off, their balance would be impaired and concentration on holding on, a definate no no for me. Also can you imagine if they threw up, the state of the helmet, you would just have to bin it wouldnt you ____________________ Live on the Isle of Wight and ride a CBR600F |

Hold on. She's drunk and you're sober. WAKE UP MAN! Make the bitch walk for being so selfish .
First thing I did when I met mine was teach 'em how to drive!
I remember only going with a woman cos she had a licence and I was on a ban. Dunno why I've got an ex wife, and the one I'm with hates me!!
Personally, I wouldn't carry a drunk pillion that doesn't ride. There's a non riding pillion I carry sometimes and what a nightmare that is. Doesn't just look at scenery, has to move whole body to look. Forever allowing for shift in weight from one side to the other.
Sorry I can't help you much with your post though as I don't know the law on the subject. ____________________ Check my website. look at my profile though as putting it here would be spamming methinks (I worked hard to create it so at least look at it!) Nothing to do with bikes I might add! Might appeal to the more feminine personality. |
