The sexy, elegant lines obviously didn't aid the bikes handling and speed. Cos if it slows the bike down (apart from the brakes) then it ain't on here.

Not Really a 'Bike' thing I suspect, but my natural scepticism would quite like to see an article comparing a tarted Jap bike (supercharger and tarty suspension) vs one of those

Unbeleivable Rolling Eyes Someone criticises a pure race rep that has almost identicle bodywork to the ducti moto gp bike that consistently tops the tables in the high speed stakes. Its not pretending to be a 916 after all. Its a no-holds barred 200+bhp bike which with the race exhaust etc is iirc a good 20 bhp higher. After all the busa isnt what you would call pretty but it does have damn good aerodynamics. Cool

Will it be restricted to 186mph?

The Bugatti Veyron isn't the prettiest of things either, but I still see it as a marvel of modern day engineering - does the Desmond come close?

There has been no mention of a limiter in any of the reports thus far but I'm sure miracle can confirm for sure. Cool

*edit* and i think the restriction was an unnoficial pact only between the japanese manufacturers anyway.

^^^ you are correct sir.

the 186mph is a Jap-only thing.

And until you see it in the flesh, it's impossible to make a decision.

And it'd shite all over any jap bike with a super.

I didn't realise the restriction was Japanese only.

If that's the case, with over 200bhp (which would be what, 175 -185 at the rear wheel) plus MotoGP-esc aerodynamics, could this be true a double-ton mph road bike?

The ZZR1400 already has 176bhp at the back wheel, the ducati with the supplied chip and race pipes will be 200bhp at the wheel.

And if the race one can do 216mph with 250bhp, i think you should be able to nudge the double ton.
