Hey, i got a laptop nc8000 here...brand new. without box! Lost box somewhere...search google for pics and specs...
DVD-ROM, CD-RW. 40gb hard drive. 512 ram. 1.6 centrino,(3.0Ghz Intel i think)

Can u guys tell me what prices to be looking for ?

I'd guess around 300-350 quid going off the spec you mentioned. Sounds similar to the 399 range laptops they have in stores now but has a bit more memory.

Might be worth more if it has extras like tv out, or one of those glossy looking screens.

there's one there, exact same spec, for £350 buy it now.
around 300 is right for it.
it's not an AMD processor, it's intel centrino. so 1.6ghz centrino is slower than a 1.6ghz intel pentium. they're not really comparable.

you asked "Can u guys tell me what prices to be looking for ?" and i told you. ebay shows what you should expect, and if you thought someone would buy it for a silly amount without checking what it's worth from somewhere like ebay, then you're wrong. so in my eyes, i have in no way depreciated the resell value of your laptop to anyone except you.

You cant moan just because it wasnt the figures you wanted to hear! Just because PC World are selling them for £5000 doesnt mean they are worth that on the open market!

Thats the biggest load of shit i've ever heard. Laughing

A laptop is given a centrino name when it has the 3 following things.

Wireless
Pentium 4 Mobile Processor
Something else (forgotten now)

Maybe your confusing centrion with celeron, but a 1.6 pentium 4 mobile is the equilivent to a pentium 4 3.0ghz cpu. There is a graph somewhere but i can't seem to find it.

The mobile chip was rebulit from scratch therefore in all benchmark tests performed just about better than the 3ghz (p4) in this case.

I have a 1.73ghz which i think is the equilivent to a 3.2-3.4ghz

Oh and the laptop will probably go for about 280-320 on ebay. Thumbs Up
