The best hour of my life - I want more!

Yesterday as 40th birthday pressie I had a trial flight lesson. The plane was a Cesna 152 and I mistakingly told the instructor - Simon that I was a frustrated fighter pilot.

Simon promptly decided I was worthy of a high powered short take off, instead of the usual slow and gradual ascent the we hit the runway doing 20 knots faster than the usual and was up like rocket, we can't have been far off the vertical, then proceeded to perform a few a few tight turns. Jesus I thought i was going to vomit.

A few minutes into the flight taking on board a quick briefing before the flight I was allowed to take the controls. ABSOLUTLEY FANTASTIC. A few more turns, a stall in flight and a inpromptu aerobatic session from Simon, and the hour was over in flash, just brilliant.

Trouble is lessons start at £60 per half hour session in the 152. Well out of my pocket, although a guy at work has suggested flying gliders as an option.

A life time dream and I want more.

Do your PPL in florida for 3k, then buy into a share of a jodel or similar for about 2k and £40 per month upkeep + £40 per hour wet to fly.
