Hello,

I've got a friend who is a few years younger then me, 16 to be accurate, she is a really nice girl but she seems to think that older men are what she likes... cause they can go clubbing or what have you..

When she was 15, she was going out with a 18 year old... who used her, then loosed her.

Now she is 16, and has a fancy boy whose 21, yes twenty one year of age.

Me and pretty much everyone i know has told her that he only wants her for one reason.. but she still insists he is a nice guy who really likes her.

He is out every week on the pull at local nightclubs, then calls her at 3am drunk... that sounds like a really caring kinda guy eh?

Anyway what i need advice on is what to do, cause i care about her a lot, she is a close friend, but i've tried warning her off him, but she doesn't listen. Keep trying to tell her, or let her find out for herself? again...

Any guys her own age are only going to be wanting her for the same thing. It's not as if it's illegal now she's 16 and it's not as if he's much older - although, apparantly, half a guy's age + 7 is the socially acceptable limit.

Since time immemorial, girls have gone out with older guys (because they have a job - so they have money and a car).

I realise it's a rapidly dimming memory , but I was a testosterone fuelled 21 year old at one point... and TBH the likelihood is that she'll be used again.
I don't like to pre-judge, and he may be a decent enough bloke, but chances are he's just looking to get whatever he can.... and she's unlikely to listen to anyone that disagrees with her

yu need to watch she is not takin advanage of. i went out witha man 11 years older than me wheni was 16 and alot of people didnt agree. and he ended up controlling me. i know i was looking to be looked after and that stage and i think i may have used an older man as a father figure, even thouh i had one i dont know why.

girls at that age willlook at men older cause they know all boys there age are immature. but just to be careful.

As mentioned it's is pretty standard fair for 16 year old girls to go for the 18-21 year old blokes, happened in my day and will continue to happen past yours.

Only problem is (from my experience) most of said 18-21 year old blokes going for the 16 year olds all seemed to be loosers: who didn't have the confidence/ability/skills to go toe to toe with an 18-21 year old girl as they were much more demanding, emotionally and physically.

With the likes of me and may mates aged 16 - jumping off everything and setting fire to our and running round a car park for fun - the 18/21 year old blokes must seem like James Bond to the 16 year old girls, no matter how 'sad' or transparent they seemed to me and my mates.

As long as she is making an informed choice all you can do is be her friend, she'll have to learn from her own mistakes.

From my experience of being that age girls seem to be looking to grow up to fast, to prove they are an adult. I think everyone knows what lads are after, it never changes! .

As said before hang back and be there!, if you confront either of them you will more than likly lose her as a friend.

i know how you feel. i have a 16 year old friend. kinda like a sister to me.

she always goes after older guys. not normally good b/f material ones either. she is beautiful so she gets em aswell. but then always complains when she gets hurt.

i tell her everytime she picks one of these losers that the guy is put mildly a freak. she'll get iin a huff and ignore me for a few days. problem is, i'm the only one with the nerve to say its all wrong (not the age necessarilly as its normally 18 year olds but the idiotrs she chooses) so i get the sole brunt of her anger.

problem is, when you are 16, you think you are an adult. you think you've have arrived and are mature in how you act and your decision making. lets face it, we all did. but when we grow older/grow up. we see we were young fools.

i say tell her what you think, more importantly why. she may get annoyed. but cant say you didnt tell her when it goes wrong.

as for the girl i know. she always seems to talk to me after the've gone wrong. as she knows she will get an honest answer. not just what she may want to hear.....which is what all her 16 year old girl friends give her.

Dont really know how the relationship will work out as I have just done the sex thing, and never the relationship thing!

And i'm sure a relationship would work out between the age gap..
