taking pain killers?

right i got a bad tooth ache, and bad is an understatement. dont say go to dentist cause they told me october originally until i called crying to get an appointment for thur.

i am taking iboprofan 400mg for it and there making me unwell but doing the job. far as i know there anti inflamarty drug.

now i have the flu again and can hardly move sitting here typing.

can i take a lemsip containing paracetamol?


or you think that blow my socks off.

just a few oppions, i am a bit weary of stuff like this.

I take as many painkillers as I need too and still go drinking etc. Never been one for reading the labels.

It is ok to take pracetamol based painkillers with Ibuprofane.
In what way are the ibuprofane making you ill? How many are you taking a day and are you taking it after a meal?

i am sensitive to tablets, one co codamol and i am high as a kite lol

the iboprofan is giving me stomach upsets as it does most people i hear and breathing difficulities.

and thank god i dont know what child birth feels like lol

i dont feel to bad now i took one there a while ago.

i'd stop taking the iboprofan, or take it with meals if you arnt allready. may be better with something like diplophenic. But i think that may be perscription only.

i think the tooth is causing nerves pains everywhere.

it was so bad once this tooth i wa screaming ad near in hospital demanding morphine nd it took 5 needles to numb in in the dentist. and the dentist still wont remove it after working on it 3 times this year. cowboys!

Yes, you can take ibuprofen (a type of Non-Steroidal Anti inflammatory Drug) at the same time as paracetamol.

NSAIDs can cause breathing difficulties for a number of people (asthmatics generally). If it causes such problems for you, you should avoid NSAIDs. Remember not to take them on an empty stomach. If you need to take them for a protracted period of time, but tend to get a stomach upset (they increase the risk of ulcers) you may need an additional tablet to reduce the stomach's acidity (a Proton Pump Inhibitor or PPI for short).

If you still have pain despite ibuprofen and paracetamol, go and see your doctor - or even A&E if it's that severe - and you should get some codeine (alone, or combined with the paracetamol) or tramadol. You may also get some antibiotics.

Just buy cheap generic tablets from the supermarket rather than branded ones, you'll save a fortune.

PS - Ibuprofen and/or paracetamol shouldn't make you at all giddy.
