Ok first of all i'm not sure how to spell Gew or is it Goo? Nevermind!!

I was out on a ride on Saturday and after a few hours the bike lost power and then died. It did the same that morning, but i flicked it to reserve and it started up straight away, so i assumed it was petrol.

SO back to the afternoon: as i was going down the road with a non-runnign engine i flicked it to reserve and tried to start it! Nothing! So i pull over and tried again, still nothing. I get off the bike a bit baffled, and decide to give it 5 mins to cool down and will try then.

As i sit waiting i notice a large amount of Black Gew dribbling down the bottom left fairing past the gear lever. I couldn't see where it was coming from as was behind the fairing, it smelt like grease. i then checked the oil level, and there was not a sausage (or any oil! Rolling Eyes ).

I then got worried, and wanted to see if there was any noise on turn over, so i flicked the starter switch and the bike roared into life and was idleing nicley, no noise or nothing...

Any ideas what this could be... What is that black greasy stuff?

Sounds like it's your oil, in which case, stop riding the bike and make sure you have enough oil left.

If it is actually coming past the gear selector, you might have lost a seal on the gear selector rod. If not, sounds like you have an oil leak from somewhere and it also sounds like you need to do an oil change.

Cheers
