 |
|
This shouldn't be too hard to answer, im just a n00b when it comes to basic electrics...
All i want to know is which one is the positive wire and which one is the negative wire, thats all...

I have a feeling the solid black one is negative and the black/white one is positive, that correct?
Its the wires from a transformer btw... ____________________ chaff mans random tingz on loot

Its just a normal tyre of universal transformer, y'know the one that comes with different sized connectors, for different things like personal cd players etc, it has a voltage thing on top so i can vary the voltage from 1.5v - 12v ...
I accidently snapped the connector thing off tonight though, which is why you can see bare wire in the pic... still works if i can figure out which wire is which... ____________________ chaff mans random tingz on loot

I would think the solid colour would be the positive, but it's hard to say for sure without testing it. I've seen the striped core used for positive or negative. Have you not got a voltmeter you could use to test it? ____________________ Past >>>> Honda NSR 125 >>>> Suzuki GSXR 600 K1 >>>> Suzuki GSXR 600 K4 >>>>Kawasaki Z1000 DAF >>>>Suzuki RMZ 250 >>>> Current >>>> KTM Superduke R 1290 >>>>

It will matter which one is which, depending what you plug it in to. ____________________ Past >>>> Honda NSR 125 >>>> Suzuki GSXR 600 K1 >>>> Suzuki GSXR 600 K4 >>>>Kawasaki Z1000 DAF >>>>Suzuki RMZ 250 >>>> Current >>>> KTM Superduke R 1290 >>>> |

Yeah, I would test it to be sure. If it was made outside of Europe (Likely) then it won't follow the normal standard as such for identifying the cores. ____________________ Past >>>> Honda NSR 125 >>>> Suzuki GSXR 600 K1 >>>> Suzuki GSXR 600 K4 >>>>Kawasaki Z1000 DAF >>>>Suzuki RMZ 250 >>>> Current >>>> KTM Superduke R 1290 >>>> |

Depends which way they're connected at the other end now doesn't it .
I'd go with the solid for live, but there's always one. ____________________ "Do what you always did, get what you always got" |

I'm not sure that there is a standard for ELV. I think the line down one cable is just there to distinguish between the 2. ____________________ Past >>>> Honda NSR 125 >>>> Suzuki GSXR 600 K1 >>>> Suzuki GSXR 600 K4 >>>>Kawasaki Z1000 DAF >>>>Suzuki RMZ 250 >>>> Current >>>> KTM Superduke R 1290 >>>> |

AAaaoowwww Feck it.....Put it on the 2volt setting and put both wires on your tongue at the same time(don't let them touch together), the one that tingles is positive. ____________________ Andy Sez....
