Got a puncture between junc 6-7 on the M4 today.

RAC turned up and arranged for me to be taken to PDQ who had agreed over the phone with the RAC to repair the tyre and also said if they couldn't repair it would replace it on the spot, they were even told the bike model and size of tyre.

Arrived at PDQ and the workshop bloke came out and said we shouldn't repair front tyres as its illegal (like f@@k it is) but we will this time.

He goes inside, the boss comes out and says we're not repairing it. I asked why he said it's illegal. I said I'm a qualified fitter, its not illegal and if you lend me the tools I'll repair it and still pay. He replied oh its not illegal but we don't want to do it and we don't have a new tyre either! RAC man asked why he had agreed to fix it and the boss just walked off.

To late at this point to go anywhere else so I had to be recovered to east london

Looks like the RAC will never be taking another bike there either and they are the only listed shop in the area.

Congratulations guys you've just lost a load of business from the RAC.

Sorry to hear you had such a shit experience,
but at least you can be smug knowing they are going to loose lots of business because of it. Smile

it'll be more than a bit of business , one biker tells 8000 bikers (the BCF population) those bikers tell their biker buds who tell their biker buds and PDQ all of a sudden wonders where they customers have gone,

sort of a bit like busters and their credit card problems , a year ago I'd have bought off busters , but now hearing of constant and continuing credit card fraud problems I wonna buy there ever again other than via cash and doing a walk in

You got it buddy.

I think most people here know I wouldn't lie so PDQ just got some real bad press.

Their boss has a rep for being moody but turning away paid emergency work that you've agreed to do to help a brother get home is taking the piss.

I went in there about 18 months back to ask about suspension upgrades. I can only really describe them as extremely unhelpful.

I'm not surprised they treated you like that sickpup, they seem to have a superiority complex. Perhaps they think they are l33t or something.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.
