ive tried all makes and sizes of boots, the ones that you slip into and velcro fasten, but cant get my feet into them. im wearing lace up combat boots at the moment but would like a nice pair of bike boots, im being told that im wide fitting but never had this prob with any other shoes or boots. i cant get my heel into the boot. any advice?

not a single pair can i get into! i even tried on a size 11 just to see if i could get past the heel! im a size 9 ffs!!!!

Try Oxtar, they zip all the way down to the hill.

XPD (Spidi) boots seem to be fairly wide fitting, more so than Sidi etc.

I've had the same problem with Sidi and a few others, the only ones I could get my big fat feet into were Alpinestars and Oxtar.....

I went for the Alpines althought he Oxtar were Very comforable.....If you've got a jsaccessories* near you go in and try on as many pairs as you can, that's where I went and I was in there for a good Two hours and the bloke running backwards and forwards to the stock room was very helpfull and never moaned once.....

* The reason I recomended them is because the selection they have is huge, unless someone can suggest somewhere similar.....

For off road boots, I found the ones which had a seperate inner section fitted me better - these are generally a bit dearer, though.

if you have wide feet, this might help.

get boots you know are the right fit in length (or perhaps a wee bit smaller, say an 8.5) and are a little snug width wise.

find a bag that will not let water out, say a bin bag or something

jam it into the boot (remember to put in some excess bag though!)

fill the bag with water

tie up the top

put it in the freezer

as the water freezes it will expand making the boot stretch out.

Try taking your trainers off. Laughing Laughing

I had the same problem, my Apinestars are just way too narrow, wear them to work but after an hour they just plain hurt. The best boots have at the moment are CAT. They look pretty average but they are really well made and I can wear them all day without any problems. Not sure you can still get them tho'?

I have a similar problem, since Ive been biking I ve worn my trusty DM's however its my birthday on Saturday and I have got my g/f to buy me some hein gerrick leathers and my dads paid for an Alpinestars Dyno (2nd hand off ebay) jacket. Tried them on last night and they work really well together but the docs on the end make me look like Max Wall Laughing
All the sports boots I tried on (reasonable price ones) were easy enough to put on but the zips were a bugger to do up and I felt that they would only last 5 mins of that much tugging to do up. Ive dug out my old motorcycle (fake) boots from the loft and waring them (from my old goth days, dont ask) but they dont really offer protection (apart from being leather)

Did you all struggle with the zips for a few days and they get loose or do they have to fit well first time???

What do you mean by can't get your feet into them?

All the boot's I tried on were quite akward to get on and off, my Spidi's are still quite akward to put on and off, but once on they are pretty much perfect. Sitting their for a few minutes struggling before getting someone else to pull them off isn't uncommon, but as I said, when on theyre nice and snug.

Check out Altberg.

https://www.altberg.co.uk/Web/motorcycle1.jsp

they will custom make, or modify boots to fit. Perhaps not the most fashionable out there, but VERY good quality

I've borrowed some Sidi Vertigo Corsas off a friend a couple of times and they're fine, i'm size 11 by the way.

The Sidi's zip all the way down to the bottom as well so they're very easy to get in and out of.

first 4 or 5 days my zips were stiff as hell, but they loosened up after that, and now it takes even less time than it takes to put my trainers on, so i sometimes choose to wear the boots out of lazyness Wink

Sidi are good, I use them, but equally good, but in a slightly wider fitting are Oxtar. I'd have apair if they weren't just a bit too wide for me
