Just a quick post to give the restults from cadwell.
Jon had an accident early on in practise and cant take further part in the meeting due to his injourys, i'm sure he will be on soon to explain.
G has kept it rubber side down and managed two great 5th places in the clubman minitwin races today. Front row of the grid is the aim for tomorrow.

GIFFOULD CLAIMS POINTS AT CADWELL PARK

Motorbike racer Dave Giffould claimed a haul of points in the latest rounds of the BMCRC Clubman Mini-Twin series at Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire this weekend.

The Calcot based rider had been looking forward to the Cadwell meeting since the start of the season as it is one of his favourite tracks in the country. He had high hopes of picking up some good results on the tight and twisty circuit and came away from the weekend in joint sixth place in the series standings.

A tenth place starting position for the first of four races over the weekend meant that he had work to do to get up the order and at the start he dropped a couple of places to his rivals. An excellent ride allowed him to get up to sixth place at the flag, which became an inherited fifth due to another rival being disqualified.

He managed to maintain his fifth place starting position for race two and take another fifth place finish before the first day of the weekend drew to a close.

On Sunday Dave was unlucky in the first race of the day, dropping a handful of places at the start and only making it back up as far as sixth by the time he reached the chequered flag. In the final race of the day he had to endure the same thing, this time taking seventh place at the line.

A still down on power engine and problems getting the bike launched off the line hampered his weekend. But he was happy with bringing home a good haul of points and brought down his personal best lap time at the daunting venue in the process.

“I’m pleased that I managed a consistent performance over the entire weekend,” said Dave. “I improved my best lap time from this time last year by nearly three and a half seconds, on a bike that has 40% less power than the one I raced last season! So I’m definitely happy with my pace in that respect, especially as it’s brought me back up the points table too.

“I will be getting the bike fully sorted before the next round and I need to work on my starts and getting the power delivery right too as it is where I am losing out to my rivals the most now. I’ve pretty much found the limits in the cornering, I even had a few “MotoGP’ style slides on a few occasions this weekend, so the extra power and getting away from the line is where I’ll find my next big chunk of time against the guys in front of me,” he added.

Dave’s next round is in three weeks time, on the Brands Hatch Indy circuit in Kent.

well, a rather short weekend for me! new bike, new track = Doh! was taking it easy but when i hit the brakes the back kept lifting slightly which was ok until it tried to put me on the tank. hand came off the throttle, inbetween the lever, clipped the kerb and went down. wrist was stuck and dragged me along. end result a broken wrist Sad

shame, i was really looking forward to a good race with barry (a rookie rival) as we are at similar speeds. but missed out on trophies again due to injury Rolling Eyes

looks like i'm going to be out for longer than we thought, got a chance of finishing the rookie championship in 3rd even if i miss the next two rounds but would have to do brands gp at the end. can't miss out on one of thoughs big championship trophies so i'll be there no matter what... i hope Shifty

A broken collar bone was mentioned at the track - a broken wrist is better though (but still not good).
