I would take that punishment with a smile on my face. You got away lightly indeed.

However they might have been thinking we'll just ban him until the end of the summer! Sad

ffs these threads about "mate you should be shot, idiot!" etc really wind me up. Sports bikes are built for speed, and have super duperly awesome brakes etc to cope. Plus theres the old factor of risk assessment, which a rider makes continuously Rolling Eyes

double edged sword it would seem.
it's super cool to go over the speed limit, which in honesty it is when the right occasion occurs (dry empty nsl road) and you don't brag about it.
that is until you get caught and make a thread about your punishment Razz
then everyone puts on thier justice hats and condemns you for the lunacy of even contemplating speeding.

go to a trackday then,

the brakes on a sports bike may be better than most things on the road but riding one dosent mean your reaction times are improved

I speed because I like speed, and I like getting to a destination quicker, when it applies. I speed nearly all the time to some extent, and I take that risk and will accept any consequences if I have to. And if anyone else on the road is that bothered by it, I couldn't give a flying fcuk. Thumbs Up

Anyone who owns a sports bike of 400cc's or more is kidding themselves if they say they don't speed, ever. It's very easy to take the moral high ground though.

I speed most of the time, that's why i bought a 600, i meant that if i didn't i'd of got a cg-125 & saved £££ on a full test. Really annoys me when people moan about speeding & they have big bikes themselves.

Feels silly riding along at 40mph on a 600, they shouldn't sell bikes that can do 0-60 in 3 secounds. They don't like going slow!

Exactly. I go out of my gate and think 'Right - best not go too fast, don't want the neighbours getting pissy'. Then I look down and somehow I'm doing 80mph. Laughing

That means he's banned from everything, cars, bikes, scooters, hgv's and busses unless he has a ticket.
