Strip clubs... would you take your girl?

So I was having a conversation and this topic came up. One girl's husband had gone to a strip club and told her about it and she asked if any of us would have a prob if their SO went.
The responses were pretty varied from "that would be grounds for divorce" to "I'm too insecure about myself, what if he compared me with them?" to "He'd better invite me along if he's going to go, I love strip clubs."

My response was that it was just a strip club, it's not like he'd be sleeping with them. The response in which my friend expressed not wanting him to go without her piqued my interest. I've never been to one, but do admit to some curiosity. She says a lot of clubs wil let women in free, will even cater to them with free drinks, etc and that the really good strip clubs have really good food.

So, would you be comfortable having your girl next to you while you were at a strip club? (I'm just talking about watching the show/dancing... not getting lap dances or anything like that)

If you're a girl, would you be comfortable in that situation? And have you ever been?

Strange thing is, last night a conversation cropped up about strippers etc. and all of the blokes I was talking to were of the same mind:
Yes they can see that the strippers have great t*ts/bodies/and all the other bits that get looked at, But essentially, once youve seen one you've seen em all!

I agree totally with what Siggi said. We went to a Spearmint Rhino place a few months back for my mates 21st (the silly sod spend over £100 on women) and I felt really embarrassed for the guys in there.

I'd probably feel more comfortable if The Mrs came along... "Sorry love, I don't want a dance, the Mrs is here" Although then they'd probably want a couples dance

I don't think i'd ever have the type of missus who would want to go to one. I've only been once, just with the lads for the experience and felt like a real loser. Not nice places to be, full of wanna be gangsters and seedy middle aged losers who seem to kid themselves into thinking the girls actaully like them, not just their wallet.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I don't get the whole stripteaze thing, doesn't really do a great deal for me.

I've always found that being the one taking the woman's clothes off is more interesting that watching one dancing to dodgy music in front of a load of drunken yobs...

But that's just me.

I can see it being a laugh for a night out, I've also heard of blokes girlfriends going along with them too, I suppose its whatever you're into, or curious about.

And with two girly friends, who made me go, (against my will) they said they wanted to go and i had to go with them cause if they got put in a box and stolen it was my fault..

Some girl jiggleing about with electical tape on her nipples.. all very odd and as about sexualy exciteing/fun as makeing toast (with your balls in the toaster at the time) there was some really crazy 80's space music which was interesting... so probably add me to the list of blokes who are supposed to be impressed by stippers but find them quite nasty and more frightening than anything

So we spent the rest of the evening investigateing the iffy items mac wearing, breifcase gropeing buisnessmen were buying, later on that night we got chased by some drug dealers, and had a burgerking meal thing at 5am... we returned to the hall near our room to find it had been decorated with vomit from a poor fellow student who'd oversetimated his drinking capacity.. ahh soho.. really is a spactacular shit hole its worth going to see how bad it really is

Been there lots of times on stag nights. What you make of it depends on what you expect. If you go in expecting to be massively turned on, you are in for a disappointment. If it is just for fun, it can be okay. It is the only form of lads only slightly risque but safe entertainment left, especially if you find the sight and sound of drunken girls annoying at other public places. The dancers fall into 3 categories. There are some with the 'I hate being here you dirty bastards' attitude. Some others have dollar signs in their eyes, and go about trying to relieve you of your money in a calculating and thinly veiled manner. There are a few who actually take pride in their work, and put on a great show. If you have the misfortune of meeting the wrong type of dancer, it will be a very poor experience. Some men get carried away, and blow lots of money trying to impress the girls, forgetting that they professionals. A few w***ers pay just the entry fee, and buy a single drink and sit for several hours watching the stage performances. It can be good fun if you get the right girls to your table, but unless you are green behind the ears, it is not going to be a mindblowingly erotic experience. Some pole dance moves are fascinatingly gravity defying. A few men bring in partners or spouses, and almost always pay for a 2 girl dance for their female companion, presumably to persuade them into having a threesome. Watching a girl get aroused by lesbian dance routine performed for her is very entertaining! Beats the lap dances any day.

Strip clubs really do confuse me, they seem utterly pointless.

When single it's a lot easier and a dam sight cheaper to go and chat to a girl, if it develops so be it, if it doesn't you've met a nice person/made a lucky escape.

I know my girlfriend wouldn't have a problem with me going as such but it would make her question her beliefs on the type of person she thinks I am. More importantly, when you have a girlfriend, why would you want to go and pay to look at some other woman, at the same time as countless other blokes? Even a personal dance doesn't seem worth it.

We lived in Kings Cross for 4 months, Sydney's red light district. I never once thought of going into one of the clubs (but the sex shops, now that's a different matter ). There were some amazingly beautiful women on 'the game' but, because of my points above, I was never tempted.

It's also a bit risky: every fifth 'lady' asking me "Would you like to see a lady" had a surprisingly deep voice!

My blokes been in them on stag do's n stuff but that's the only time I'd agree to it. Not a regular occurrence n I don't think he even likes going to be honest.

I'm only 17 so shouldn't really, but i've been to one. Main reason was that every where else in town was closed and this was the only place open selling beer, second reason was i wanted to see what it was like.

Taking a bird along with me wouldn't be that bad, doubt she'd be bothered tbh.

Ex husband used to DJ at Stringfellows and I regularly went there:

1) because I had fuck all else to do and wanted alcohol and never had to drive!

2) they often had a ladies night so I used to take some mates and have a right giggle.

Even ex hub said after working a couple of nights there (and we are talking about an absolute tosser btw!) all the girls looked the same and it really didnt do a thing, and you could see the look of absolute boredom in his face, I have to say I believed him.

I think they are fine for a night out where you want a giggle but a laugh is all they are, unless you are a sad bloke (as previously said in this thread) who ends up skint because you believe the girlies like you!!!

I have only ever been to one strip club and it was in Newcastle, was away with a few mates for the weekend, we went in as there are no strip clubs in NI so thought we'd have a look and see what the crack was.

Anyhows it was a bit crap the girls were very good looking but it felt sleazy, as for taking my girl to a strip club no way, i feel uncomfortable watching sex scenes in movies with my girl.

I don't know why i feel uncomfortable maybe i just feel guilty as if im being a bit unfaithful, anyhows going to a strip club might hurt my girl feelings so i wouldn't do it .
