This is going to come across as pretty prejudiced, but after another day of avoiding almost-certain-death on the roads, I don't give a shit!

Are all Asian men appalling drivers, or am I just unlucky to a statistically improbable extent?

Every day, you can guarantee that I'll be cut up, undertaken or otherwise endangered by at least 3 asian MPV drivers, a handful of rude boys and a couple of fat businessmen in Mercs. The occasional African minicab driver takes a shot, and women of all races in 4x4s do their best, but it's definitely Asian men that cause me the most grief.

Today, it was a small convoy of 3-4 cars racing each other, with some of the most appalling risks being taken that I have ever seen. (naturally, not a traffic copper in sight) topped off by the BMW 4x4 wedged so far up my arse for the last 2 miles that it I could taste their front bumper at the back of my mouth.

If it was just every now and then, I could understand it, but it's every single day, no matter what the time or part of the run.

Some of the areas I travel through are famously asian in their population makeup, but not 100%, especially as I use the bypass for traffic to Heathrow from the whole of London, so there is no real excuse for it.

Can anyone throw some light on the subject? Any Asians out there care to fill me in?

[/rant]

It's proberly because they all share one driving licence. Laughing Laughing

Around here there are a fair few asians and it's only one or two that i've had close calls with. Are there a lot of first gen asians around down there?

If they learn't to drive abroad then old habbits die hard.

Plenty of the minicabs are probably 1st gen, but the young guys are pretty obviously born and bred in this country. You can tell by their pathetic verbal threats when told they drive like useless shit-cunts.

There was a guy on Top Gear once, the dude from the Kumar's, If I recall correctly, he gave a very funny insight into that sorta mindset...I'l try and find it for you Smile

My parents are mediterranean, and whilst my mum is a safety freak, my dad was a bit reckless back in his day (possibly because he came from a poorer backround)...but back then, he did crazy stuff like ride around without any protection, doing stupid speeds on bikes that he 'borrowed' from his brother.

On a related note, whilst driving through with my dad, we saw an Asian bombing down Alum Rock Road (A very asian-dominated area in Birmingham, by Star City) without any sort of protection, on a Yamaha R1, the wrong way, up the street, my Dad had some choice words for him, but as Mcgee rightly said the whole place just stares at you, and we feared a vigilante Wink

Mister James,
Having lived in Africa, Asia, Europe and the States perhaps I am a bit better as at seeing all the POVs
1. Asian/African/European culture is different
-It is OK to stare
-People don't expect to say sorry or receieve an apology for a "minor" incidence like this
-Its not rude to toot the horn

Another problem I see is education/family background;
-Do you like a chav in a 4X4, well a chav is uneducated and not hard working, so most don't won a 4x4 or a merc. Many of the immigrants are not as well educated like a chav, but are hard working, so there you see the merc guy cutting you up, cause he was brought up rough and has no manners.

I from experience know that most of the ones (at least non islamic ones) are very hardworking and actually nice people if you get to know them.

Also many of the islamic people don't value life,
God giveth and God taketh -
I in moslem parts of Africa know that if you "really" by accident run someone down child for instace many a moselm will not take any grudge against you as they think you were the messenger of God Rolling Eyes and did his bidding. Just common courtesy to pay for the funeral and no revenge etc (No I did not kill anyone Shocked )

So if a guy like that ran you down he would think God caused him to run you down to your death Mr. Green

After all Mister James you are a mere mortal in the land of the Gods

Hope this help (Ask for more details if you want to understand)

And mister James
"Oh, no tears, please. It's a waste of good suffering."

Senna - I agree with some of what you say, but alas, I feel it is not applicable or excusable in this context.

As I'm sure you are aware, I work with approximately 500 immigrants at any one time, from countries as diverse as Ireland and Togo. I'm aware of the gaping flaws in many of their cultures, I just don't understand the mindset of them continuing with it in this country.

Immigrants have generally come to this country for two reasons - to make lots of money in our superior economy, or to escape unpleasant situations thanks to our relatively peaceful society. Our country is pleasant on both counts because of the way that we run things. If a load of people come here allegedly fleeing persecution, but then carry on acting as they did back home, then we will end up in the same mess.

A case in point: African Nationals almost never say please, and often shout. When challenged, they genuinely can't understand what the problem is, and the oft-repeated refrain is "In my country, we talk like this". Very few of them seem to be capable of drawing the link between them being loud and impolite, and gangs of people with machettes running around butchering everyone in sight.

While you are probably correct with most of your observations, it then begs the question why we put up with it. One Traffic car on the A312 would be able to stop someone for dangerous driving every minute of the day. Instead, we get two speed cameras, both of which are in areas where the traffic forces you to slow to below 50 anyway! Nice one guys!

The asian girl sitting next to me in the office says that all the asian lads she knows don't feel the need to indicate/abide by speed limits or indeed drive in a good way... they have to keep up their 'bad boy' image as best as they can away from home because when they get back in their Mummy's little boy again Laughing

This is not just a case of supidity on the roads, its a case of How these pricks ever got a licence in the first place.

The Asian community (like many others) are not unknown Rolling Eyes to obtain a licence by fraudulant means.

I have proof;i eg Mr Halaabad is a driving instuctor, his uncle and both his cousins are in the industry (examiners)

Out of 12 of the examiners at a Birmingham test center 9 of them are related in some way.the chances of getting the "right" person is now odds on.

Money gets exchanged, papers are signed, cousins are now all legal to drive and cause havoc.

Do not think this is just the case in one type of close community Twisted Evil .

The Freemasons have been looking after there own for centuries Many with the right connections (including links to the Police) have not only got away with speeding /drink driving/ etc, (+ far more serious offences).

Eg Police officer given a small fine and NO ban for 123mph in HIS own car on the M4 (he also had no valid insurance)

Rules and regulations means nothing if you know the right person, it really does not matter on colour or creed.

Its the rest of us that will always suffer Twisted Evil

I love that idea. Someone of the swarthy persuasion cuts you up? Catch him at the lights, drag him through the driver's window and commence dishing out a Rodney Kinging to the words:

"It's OK -" THWACK "- I'm a messenger -" THUD "- from God. -" CRUNCH "- Praise be -" STOMP "- to Him. -" CRACK

Was a wet night and this paki turned right in front of me in the car about 10m infront of me. I managed to get stopped about 1m from him but it was the worst bit of driving I'd ever seen in my life.

Well, I just wandered out to go and buy some milk (some t-leaf has pinched all of ours) and a couple of asian lads in a gold pug with added plastic bits came bombing down a one way street the wrong way...

The street is not only really narrow, but also a pedestrianised street.

Niiiiiiice trick boys!

Colin is turning into quite the comedian these days - way to reverse your profile fella!

I thought I'd be safe tonight, as I stayed late to shoot the breeze with the night manager. My mistake - 10pm is Sanjay and Mohammed's "quick, lets do one last mental drive around Feltham and Hayes before going home to Mummy-ji" time.

Before I got bored and gave up, I counted at around a dozen tart-ed up pimp-mobiles screaming past me, under taking, not indicating, doing speeds that Siggi would frown at, etc.

Inside each car was at least 2 scrawny pencil-thin-bearded craig-david wanna-be hip-hop loving weasels scowling out at the world.

It's enough to make me strap C4 to the KLE and take them out Basra-stylee.

I am just trying to put my own observations, so no offence;

Why put up?

1. why do englishmen wear shorts in a moslem country, it is oh so rude?
2. Most english people don't wash after a poop, that is so filthy and unclean, all englishmen/women in africa/asia should be stripped and forced to wash their a*se Mr. Green
3. It is rude to kiss in public, why do people kiss? say when you are touring

The list goes on, this is a conflict of cultures

Perhaps the people on this forum who have partners from asia/africa/elsewher can shed some light on thier experiences?

Yeah the list is long of things we do and they don't, but what has this to do with endangering people's lives?

Yeah I noticed the Paxi’s on the increase, their attitude on the road is strange, I have no idea how they passed the car test. There is a Asian guy near me who has a sported up punto, he has many dents in it, I wonder if he stopped when he bumped peoples cars? Rolling Eyes

Interesting observation and mostly correct. I think it is a 'West London' thing. Certainly on my journey from Chiswick to Hanger Lane and on to Park Royal you encounter a disproportionate amount of Asian and African drivers, in those shrunken down Previas, usually driving in the outside lane at some ridiculously slow speed, often yacking on the phone. I've lost count the number of times I've had to stop or swerve when filtering when someone decides they need to change lane.

It's not just Asians though...try North West London, my daily journey takes me into the heartland of Orthodox Jewry and these people, in their 'proper' Previas - (they've been in the UK longer), Volvos etc are just as bad....last night I was following one - going slowly - I had my full beams on and he just stopped on a main road, totally ignorant to me directly behind, a bus, behind me and a load of other cars....he casually got out of the car (while on the phone) and went up to a house and looked at the queue behind his car and was slightly incredulous when they started screaming at him and hooting their horns.

The bottom line is that there are more bad drivers then good on the roads, who are not road and traffic aware and perhaps the 'culture' or 'racial background' just exacerbates their poor driving. Rolling Eyes

What has that got to do with asian lads trying to kill me every night? I should suffer because someone in another country with the same colour passport as me may or may not be wearing shorts?! That's their problem - asian pricks in my country is mine.

Some of the most horrifically unpleasant and unclean people I've met have been african or asian. Again, I fail to see your point, and if they want to make a law about that in their own hell-hole country, let them crack on - I'm talking about the UK.

Quote:

WTF?

Quote:

No shit Sherlock! Unfortunately for them, mine takes precedence - especially when it comes to FOLLOWING THE LAW IN THIS COUNTRY, YOU LITTLE WANNA-BE RACING DRIVER WEASELS!!!

Is that clear enough for you?

Quote:

I have an almost partner of Indian descent, but she's British, she speaks English, she considers herself English, her driving makes me sick but it's legal, and she doesn't consider herself to be some kind of hardnut, despite the fact even I'm slightly concerned about her arse-kicking skills.

Mister James I think you misunderstood me;
I meant when an englishman goes to africa/asia he breaks the rules there without being aware, same stuff here. This I tell from experience.

If you read my post earlier you will start to figure things out

Priority

UK
1. Life
2. Money
3. Sex

Guess what (being PC)
1. Religon
2. Pride
3. Status

In the UK (West) you kill it is the same as offending some peoples religon.

Life is not even on the list, life for them is equal a beer or something.

In short me or your or their life means nothing, NO VALUE.

If it has no value how can you cause harm by running you (me) down??

As long as westerners don't understand this problem they cant solve the other problems caused by this
Mr. Green

The problem I feel is that the immigrants don't mix with locals etc so the culture is not mixed.

Maybe mister james you should invite a few of them to a British culture show and try to see the values your higly esteem, then they might get the message.

Hope it helps
