Hi!

I'm new to biking having only just purchased my first bike. However I have always been interested in bikes (I'm from the IOM!). Sat and passed my CBT and theory at the beginning of June. Practical next week so I hope to get out for a ride round the highlands next weekend. After much deliberation (between GSR600, CBF600F and an ER-6F) I managed to get hold of a 2 month old, 200m, Kawasaki ER-6F ABS, dirt cheap.

Cheers

As mentioned above I have a Kawasaki ER 6F. The only thing I can grumble about is the mirror arms are to short and you can't see behind without moving. I have looked on many sites for longer mirror arms for the bike but can't any. Any www/local shop suggestions?!?!

Cheers!

Yes, that's what I 'fell' for. In the flesh the black and dark red go very well together. Comes in silver too with a very light gold/bronzed chasis but the pillion seat is silver to make it look like a single seater - it doesn't quite work for me though!

PASSED MY PRACTICAL - only for the 'one' perfect u-turn.

Just like eddthompson I couldn't do a u-turn to save my life. My instructor took me out for 45 minutes before my test and I asked if I could just sit and do u-turns, which I did. However, I failed on every single one. Foot down every time. Anyway, my instructor told me time was up and off we went to the test centre. 1 minute into the test I got chased by a pitbull! Realising he couldn't catch me he turned and went for the examiner who was coming up behind mem. Once rid of the dog we stopped and I performed the best u-turn I've done to date. I then proceeded through the test with flying colours without any minors. Chuffed!!!!!!!! Damn right I was chuffed. Proudly leaving the test centre with the biggest grin I performed a u-turn and put my foot down. Doh!

Anyway, the ER 6F is great to ride. Went on my first long ride on Saturday with some mates from work. Great day and great fun.

Well done passing, that's great news. You won't have to do another U-turn ever again if you don't want to. You can be like twinkle toes and walk your bike if you so wish Smile

Hey, I'm new too and I passed 7 months ago, I'm picking my new bike up on Friday (to replaced my seized up Vespa). I never had trouble with the U-turns but the first time I took my test the examiner bloke (who was following me in his Zafira, didn't even have a bike!) failed me on running wide when turning left at junctions and it was one of those three strikes minors, which annoyed me, but the second time I passed with 4 minors, which I reckon were mainly nervous wobbles throughout the ride etc and I was well chuffed! Well done on passing, bet it feels great! Very tasty looking bike you have there, too.
