However we're talking about a maybe 750 calorie deficiet on one day - and this is presuming I am watching what I'm eating and don't eat more anyway, which I find I tend to naturually.

Thats a quarter of your daily intake (RDA) so whats not good about that? At the very least its offset against what you eaten, meaning you can have to bags of big crisps and juice for the price of one Wink

Daft as it sounds, try and eat a bigger breakfast - it should boost your metabolism and help you burn the calories better.

If you have a bigger breakfast, you could probably cut out the crisps with your lunch (or chocolate, though sometimes you just need the sugar). Still it is clear that your beer intake is the problem... buy smaller beer bottles?*

Whilst running is a good exercise, swimming is better generally as has been said - it's low impact. Running can cause all sorts of other problems due to the impacts on your joints (particularly knee caps).

When I was into loosing weight, I alway drunk a can of fizzy drink 5 minutes before I ate. It bags you up a bit and make me feel fuller.

Don't do any stomach exercises (like sit ups/crunches etc) until you lose the fat as all that happens is that you start to build up muscle behind the fat which pushes the fat out further and makes you look even fatter!!

As has already been mentioned, lots of CV exercise to start fat burning. Keep your heart rate in the ideal fat burning zone (around 140bpm but varies on your age etc) Lots of people make the mistake of going all out on CV exercises, their heart rate goes through the roof and you don't get the best benefit from the workout. And finally, as G mentioned, you HAVE to change your diet, drastically. One Mars bar is all it takes to start pilling the fat back on!!!

In order to actually achieve a classic '6 pack' (which a lot of people can't actually get anyway) the skin over your stomach muscles has to be as tight as the skin on the back of your hand. Shocked

I would say cut out that 11am binge eat and eat a healthier lunch at 1pm. Then dont drink at night and do more excercise. Simple.
