Hi

This could be interesting:-

https://www.thisisnorthscotland.co.uk/displayNode.jsp?nodeId=149235&command=displayContent&sourceNode=149218&contentPK=14847745&moduleName=InternalSearch&formname=sidebarsearch

Seems there is a requirement that any new speed camera must be approved by parliament. And none have.

All the best

Keith

Don't get your hopes up, for a start the government never admits being wrong even when caught red handed.

Also judges won't tend to overturn laws even if overturning is the right thing to do , if it leads to a mass flood of claims and reversals, and instead tend to make judgements that try not to set precedents which force MPs to repeal laws but not retrospectively,

Imagine that 10 million or so points and fines being over turned , as if , there would be a all so convient fire at the DVLA which destroyed all records of fines , but amazingly and surprisingly the points database computer would survive. (remember the freedom of information act and the government shredders?).

I have to agree there... the chances are slim to none, there hardly going to let it happen. But if it does i see a giant smile on the face of Britain Very Happy

It would be havok if it happened and like Itchy said judges tend to make utiliterian (cant spell it) judgements.

I know (unfortunatly), but it would be nice.

Latest example of a judge making a nonsensical judgement is the one who decided that a fixed penalty is not a fine for forfieture.

All the best
