Right i sold my zxr400 about 5 weeks ago, sent off logbook with the new owners details in etc.

Yesterday i received a letter reminding me to tax it at the end of july, but i no longer own the bike.

I havent received a letter from the dvla saying i am no longer the registered keeper, which is supposed to arrive within 4 weeks.

I sold my vauxhall nova a weeke later but received the above letter after only 3 weeks.

Am i still going to be liable for the bike tax??

call the DVLA....if you dare. they are notoriously hard to get to speak to a human with, just options, then preset answers.

send the dvla stating the vehicle is sold and you have sent the V5. but have received this letter. and ask them to check it.

Call them, note the time and date of what was said, or write them a letter and keep a copy also timed and dated. Dont let them take you to court and lose a days wages because they're so fucking useless. Had to go to court because i didnt declare my bike SORN, even tho i didnt own the bastard anymore and the V5 was sent off, and two letters were sent of saying i was no longer the owner and getting letters confirming they've updated their computers.

Was in court all of 10 mins what a was of my time and the courts time fucking useless the DVLA.

Sorry i had to rant. Evil or Very Mad
