I've been smoking rollies for the past 6 months now and when I have a real cigarette they don't have any effect.

For some reason, they don't seen to satisfy as much as rollies do. I think it is more the habit than the nicotine.

There's no need to give up weed just because you've given up ciggies. There's no excuse for that.

I gave up tobacco and stopped smoking weed for a couple of weeks because the cravings for a ciggy after a smoke were ridiculous.

After that I went back to bongs or very small pure spliffs.

I smoke a lot less generally as I don't have the nice ritual of rolling up a nice joint that I used to enjoy. An eighth lasts me two months.

I like to still roll the odd joint for mates, it is an art that I perfected over many years and shouldn't be lost.

i do everything else healthy so i may as well not smoke and then be 100% healthy. plus i shoudl not be smoking when i hjave to take an inhaler everyday, that dont help.

am starting tomorrow, cant today as i have taken a cig this morning. so i am smoking all i got left like a chimney lol

True, the weed is not great for the mental health. I try to keep it in moderation but should probably not do it at all. I suffer from depression in winter (the so called SAD) and the weed does tend to make it worse especially the pointless anxiety. I have regular periods of a three months off to get my mashed up brain back on a level.

Good luck with your no smoking, I wish you well. Sometimes it seems impossible and depressing but it can be done.
I'll ask you how you're doing in a weeks time so you'd better keep it up!!

i get sad to, maybe not this year hopfeully as all anxiety is gone and depression since i have not smoked dirty dope in over a year. resin is far worse especially on your chest. it got to the point where i would get an instant headache and loose the will to live after a few. novelty wore off. my mates used to make them first thing in the morn and i could not function right at all throuh out the day. i wish people would relise they dont need it but as i said it affects people in differant ways.

should ban alcohol before cannibis to be honest.

Nicotine patches are a complete waste of time, as smoking is not a chemical addiction it's a psychological addiction.

Look at it this way, you wouldn't give an alcoholic a bottle of wine, so why would an ex smoker need nicotine?

See if you can find a good hypnotherapist in your area, I quit a couple of days ago with absolutely no side effects.

There was no reason to downrate Davo as he was right.

Even if the patches DID work for now as soon as you stop your body no longer has any nicotine, therefore you go back to smoking.

I cannot for one moment believe you are feeling sick and dizzy after 3 hours. Confused

The patches worked for me and they've also worked for thousands of other people.
In the past when I've just given up smoking without having anything to help me the physical withdrawals have been hell. With or without the patches though you have to really really want to give up else you'll fail.
Good luck with it. It isn't easy but it can be done and I wish you all the best.

i had a wee routine where i would have smokes especially when m mum winds me up which is alot.

i am two days off them and feel great. when i cough there is nothing there i have been told i look more alive and happy. i slept fine. the patches seem to be working i wouldnt like to see me without them. i was scared 2 nights ago as i didnt know what to expect. everyone is really pleased with me.
this morning i woke up and i wasnt all shakey and dying for a smoke i was very calm which was nice and all day ahve been like that. i get the thought in my head i want a cig a few times but the urge is not enough to make me do it.

my bf says i dont smell like an ashtray anymore and i cant smell it off myself at all and all my cloths smell nice and my room is nice to now.

oh and my skin looks great also. and food already tastes better. so things can only get better i hope.

Whats worse than heroin??

And i thought it takes like a week before all the crap is out of your lungs. Oh and i know for a fact that a room that has someone smoking in it often takes a lot longer than 2 days to clear. Laughing

Stale smoke stays for ages, my room mate at school mum used to smoke so his stuff would smell of fags for like 4-5 days.

I had a rasping cough for 2 weeks.

My breathing is only just starting to get better now and i'monly just about tasting things better.

Nearly 3 weeks! Apparantly now my body should have no nicotine in it whatsoever so Middle Finger to patches.

Both my mother and I smoke as well as 90% of our friends do and a bit for that stuff sorts it right out. Plus, it is gone and none of that crap about your a smoker so can't smell it.

Offtopic here but: What is this crap about smokers not being able to smell smoke? I've smoked for 5/6 years and can smell smoke on my clothes, in the room and when someone has been smoking.

i must have lost the ability to smell then cause my room smells nice now. i have them wee scented wooden balls everywhere and i can smel them now.

and yes i think i do look better even after 2 days, apparently i look happier. and i like being told that cause it gives me motivation. and i do feel better. i dont know but i have seen people worse than me trying to get off the smokes, maybe its my way of thinking and things i do. i am not around anyone that smokes now and dont intent to be for a while. i still get the thought in my head i want one but it passes.

If you do smoke you can smell it on clothes and in a room but you can't quite appreciate how much it stinks. I hate it when fuckers sit down on the train next to me in the morning when they've barely finished thier ciggarette.

Good work for doing two days!
It's good that you can notice differences for motivation. It's those things that keep you going. Even after a few days you feel cleaner and most importantly you will feel happier about yourself . Thumbs Up

How come our room still stank of the crap then??

Fabreeze hides the smell doesnt get rid of it, only airing the room out used to.
