My instructor rang me today with a test date..........unfortunately it wasnt at the test centre I had chosen. This is because waiting times for my chosen centre are very long.... this other place can get me in much quicker but..........

It is in town I have never ever been to, he assures me it is easier than my chosen centre but I am not happy............eventually found the place this evening, had a quick recky.... but I am really not happy. Hate driving about when I dont know where I am going.

I am having 2 days lessons with the instructor prior to the test, will this be enough to familiarize me with the town I dont know.

Should I ring him tomoro and insist on taking the test at the place I asked for, which is in the townI have been driving around on for over 20 years or should I just bite the bullet and go with the other place.

Its worrying me. I dont want to fluff the test just because I am unfamilar with my surroundings. Sorry, I know this is a girly panic.

bite the bullet. the instructor should take you on some routes anyway.
when i did my car test it was somewhere i'd never been before. i passed first time. cos he said i was looking at the signs. Embarassed lol
so sometimes it works in your favour just like when you move your mirrors out a bit so you have to move a bit to look. so they think your looking more .lol

At the end of the day it boils down to how soon you want to take your test. Do you want to take it now at this new place or wait indefinitely for your chosen test centre?

Now I might be wrong here, because it's ages since I took my test, but doesn't the examiner ride with you nowadays and give you directions through an earpiece? I know what you mean about not liking riding unfamiliar roads, but if he is going to be telling you where to go and what to do, does it really matter if you don't know the roads?

Whatever you decide to do though, good luck Thumbs Up

Thanks..... yeah your right.....I should be able to ride on unfamilar roads, thats the whole idea.

Its just me flapping, I have been getting so much practice in around my local town, I had the test routes sussed, the lot. Just knocked me duck off a bit , thats all.
