What a touching post dark, my love to you and your family.
I lost my dad, my best friend, two years ago (29th May 04) to bowel cancer. He was 46 years old, and i was there at his bedside when he died along with my mum, sisters, brother, uncle and aunt. I can honestly say that I have never known a greater man. My dad took me on my first ever pillion ride, and I know that he is with me every time i'm out watching over me (i wear his worn in sliders on my leathers). I still cry sometimes, but not as much as before, and it doesn't hurt quite so much now, so it is true that time is a healer.
I'm not sure what really happens next, but i know deep down that my dad is with me a lot. Sometimes when i'm down or need advice I can almost hear his voice and wisdom. I miss him so much.
Your mom will live on in you, and i bet she's proud to have a son who loves her so much.
Lots and lots of hugs

Thank you so much for all your kind words people, we're all back at work and some kind of normalcy is resuming, its certainly been a life changing event. Both myself and my dad are thinking of changing our careers and doing something that really matters, something that will make a difference for someone somewhere.
The funeral was incredibly difficult to sit through and remain cool calm and collected, but i managed it for my dad, i think he took comfort knowing that whatever happens i'm there for him. The p*ss up afterwards will go down in history as the longest and heaviest drinking session our family has witnessed!!
She will be missed, but never forgotten
Andrea, it sounds like you know exactly what i've been through and what i'm going through now. Thank you for your lovely post, i was very touched reading it.
Johnny, i really hope your mums results are positive mate.
Thanks again to all that have offered words of support, your all stars!! ____________________ My Bikes in order:- Yamaha RXS100 / Suzuki X7 250 / Yamaha RD350LC / Kawasaki

Can only say I'm sorry to hear of your loss... I can only imagine what your dad, you and your family are going thru
It's already been said, but maybe there's some small comfort knowing that your mum had her loved ones around her. ____________________ 1st bike (Sept'06 - May'10) : 1991 GPZ500S / Current bike (since Nov 2009) : 2003 Suzuki Bandit 600N

Dark, what an absolutely top post back on the first page, incredibely touching and blatantly from the heart. Really feeling for you, don't know what i'd do without my parents. ____________________ Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it.
