Where's its bottom end gone? Apparently Kawasaki kept it tame at low rpm so it wasn't scary for riders... Neutral

I'm at odds to seeing the point as the modern day 1000s rape it on roll on acceleration - maybe it's only suitable for cross-continental Autobahn storming.....

Craigs,
Most bikes are bought by everyday folk such as myself, we all req / like different things.
I was held up on the Whaley Bridge - Buxton road 3 weeks ago by a group of 1000cc muppets with knee sliders and such.
I was 2 up on the Abuser and i was passing them in the sweepy bends. Now, its not the fault of the bike, its the fault of the riders.
They have bought 1000cc bikes to pub talk, they were wibbling around like old women and got chewed up and spat out by a 19 stone waster with a pillion on a lardy poor handling overweight Suzuki Rolling Eyes
I also passed a tosser coming back from Matlock on Friday just gone, he was on a new GIXXER 750 and was riding like a complete twat, all over the road, braking when he should have been on the gas etc.
I'm as much at ease in the twisties hustling litre sports bikes out of my way as i am in the 3rd lane at 70+mph.

Now, if i had to do a review about the 929 Blade V's BUSA i'd be laughed at because 'I' found it to unsteady in the corners compared to my Suzuki Confused
My size and riding style didn't suit a little bike.

Fair enough, it's just there seemed to be a lot of hype/build up over the new 1400 and now it's been released, doesn't seem to be as much (still an absolute stormer mind) as it was intended to be. I guess you get that with any modern day missile though.

I can understand how they can appeal and also how more useable/comfortable they are over the power ranger race reps, but do we really need more power than the Busa (also considering the Kwak's lame bottom end), especially as, when it comes to riding the things, no bike seems to be dramatically quicker for the average rider on anything than a bypass?

Very well put Craig, there is a slight difference coming out of corners and overtaking, my mate on his R6 cannot get near me when we start... His bike is more agile and he's more maverick than me but i pile it on low down on the 'A' roads, i'm gone before he can drop 2 gears Mr. Green
Thumbs Up

That was a good read, although I thought that the Kwak was a ZZR not a ZX-14R, or have the americans got a different name for it?

I think the Busa looks better IMO.

I was pretty proud about a month ago, when I overtook a ZZR1400. Laughing

Kawasaki USA often had different names for their bikes-making all kinds of kwackers "Ninjas" when they weren't.
That was a really good article there hairychipsticks-cheers for finding it.
After 180mph-they were only split by 5 tenths of a second-crazy!!! Cool
I was slightly surprised at the low (kinda... Wink ) power output, I was expecting almost 180bhp. what a torque curve though! that surge mid-graph was so cool! over 100 ft lb must feel awesome, and doing 90mph at 4500rpm!quality. Would love to ride one. but i have to make do with my new babyblade i got from johnsilva recently with only 25ft lb! can't wait for license restriction to finish and to finally have a bike that moves! Cool Very Happy

Will it be a good match for a CGR125 with a double bubble screen and a home made air filter? Embarassed
