Vibrating fingers

Well.....

After 700 miles in 3 days I have a funny sensation in my hands and fingers like I'm still clung onto the bike. I did have a 6 month lay off before the weekend....

Anyone else suffer from this? Feels bloody weird!

Yeah i get this, but i dont really have to go on a long ride to get it, only really 40 miles. But it doesnt last for that long after i finish riding, maybe half an hour.

Vibration White Finger. Get heavier bar ends, your bars are vibrating too much.

as mentioned, vibration white finger is a possibility, can be bad if let to get too severe

heated grips aid with this, as temperate is very important to the effects of vibration apparently

Or your carbs are out of ballance..

(or you have a single cylinder bike )

Chunky gloves and foam grips also help (they are feckin horrible but they do deaden allot of it)

Colin - mine are bad too from the Gixer, but that's due to the lightweight aluminium tarty bar ends.

Will be ordering some proper weight stainless steel bar ends soon.

VWF seems extreme for only 3 days back riding!

Never had it before unless I'd done some serious miles....
I need new gloves anyways, see if that heals it first.

I was getting that on fairly short rides, at certain points in the rev range the bars would vibrate quite badly.

When i removed the bar ends i discovered the handlebars themselves are hollow, so i've packed some welding rods tightly into some garden hose pipe (only because the hose fit perfectly into the handlebars) and capped the ends with two small screws and put the bar ends back on.

The handlebars don't vibrate nearly as much, they could do with something a little heavier in to be honest, but no more vibration white finger

I get this after spending most the day with my finger pinned on the throttle of a chainsaw/hedge trimmer/blower then I have to ride home with the tingling

Another way arround it is to fill the bars with lead shot..

Bar ends is an iffy one, occasionally can make things worse as they resonate at the frequancy of the engines vibes.. only one way to find out though..

Seems to be excessive compared to my previous bikes, has been jetted and about 6krpm to about 10k its quite bad.

Might look inside the bar ends to see if I can weight them down, wore glove inners last night but still got some tingling today.
