Windows Live Messenger

[Resurrection]

Anyone else used/using it?

I switched to it a few days ago and tbh i just find it slow and abit crap

Anybody else found as much?

Edit/ I use firefox and when i click read mail etc it uses i.e and i know there is an earlier thread but doesnt work for me

It's been out for ages, is much better than previous versions, it signs in nice and quickly.

Yeh its great! Some people have had problems with it, but it runs fine for me

I just downloaded and installed WLM.... and it lost my contact list!! Still have them on Web Messenger so will try to get an older verion back on.

I had the same problem Paul, installed it and all my contacts were missing. I had to reinstall msn 7.5
You could try this, it didn’t work for me but it may work for you

"2. If your contact list is empty or incomplete after you upgrade to Windows Live Messenger, the cached contact list may not have updated correctly. To update your contact list, follow these steps:
a. Sign out of Messenger.
b. Click "Start," click "Run," type the following command, and then click "OK":
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Messenger\
c. A new Microsoft Windows Explorer window opens. In the window, click your Messenger ID.
d. Double-click the Contacts folder.
e. Delete the two folders that are in the Contacts folder.
f. Sign in to Messenger again."
