Greetings.
2 weeks ago the Rectifier/Regulator blew , (and i mean blew) big gash in side where smoke poured .. needless to say this has been replaced with another from (a salvage NC24) , problem is the "new" one is getting red hot after 2mins of running up the machine , I'm too scared to go any where in case i kill this one aswell . is there something that is causing the Rectifier to cook or am i being paranoid ? I have heard that the VFR's do kill rectifiers over time but how is this fixed ? . CBR600 model with Heat Sink ?
Many Thanks in advance.

The stock Rectifiers are shit and the location is silly (right by a cyclinder head), you ethier need to relocate it were air can flow over it or buy a heavy duty pattern one with a heat sink fitted.

I had a few from these people for varoius bikes inculding a NC24.

Hi guys,
Just checked out all the Electrics with multi-meter and all voltages to and from Rectifier are ok . I shall definatley have a look at a Better option Rectifier from that site you provided "Tatters" cheers for the link dewd. So now all is needed is a blast out on her to see if this one cooks.. hopefully it still has a good few thousand miles left in it before it needs changing for a "Pattern" one. well I think my mate (who owns the NC24) is feeling a bit happier now after your advise, thanks guys.

My bike is a Yammy YZF600 Thundercat, and aint had no problems yet. fingers crossed !.. lol .
